Abstract

The structural part of an airplane is a part that often receives various kinds of loads, both dynamic and static loads. As a result of the loading is the occurrence of cracks on the lower skin horizontal stabilizer. One of the improvements in the aircraft structure used to repair the crack is the doubler. Doubler is reinforcement of material by coating the cracked material with the same or even stronger material. Efforts to determine the strength of the material in the material repairing damage to the lower skin horizontal stabilizer, the strength analysis of the material on the object of damage damage crack horizontal stabilizer on the Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The purpose and purpose of this paper is to get the strength value of the material before and after repairing the damage crack and analyzing the strength of the material before and after repairing the damage crack. The research was carried out on alumunium 2024-T3 with room temperature 23˚ C and which is the original skin horstab specimens, doubler candidates and doubler results. The research method use tensile testing and tensile shear testing on the material. The strength of the material on the object of the repair doubler damage crack experienced additional strength compared to the original thickness material of the horstab and compared to the specimen of the doubler candidate. Where the strength of the material in the area of damage repair damage is 476 N / mm2, while the strength of the material in the original horstab skin and doubler candidate is 421,896 N / mm2 and 435.08 N / mm2. Keywords : Horstab, Tensile test, Alumunium 2024 T3, Doubler, Crack Bagian struktur pada pesawat terbang merupakan bagian yang sering menerima berbagai macam beban, baik beban dinamis ataupun statis. Akibat dari pembebanan tersebut adalah terjadinya crack pada bagian lower skin horizontal stabilizer tersebut. Salah satu perbaikan struktur pesawat yang digunakan untuk memperbaiki crack tersebut adalah dengan cara doubler. Doubler adalah penguatan material dengan cara melapisi bagian material yang crack tersebut dengan material yang sama atau bahkan lebih kuat. Upaya untuk mengetahui kekuatan material pada material hasil perbaikan damage pada lower skin horizontal stabilizer maka dilakukan analisis kekuatan bahan pada benda repair damage crack horizontal stabilizer pesawat boeing 737-800. Penelitian dilakukan pada material alumunium 2024 T3 dengan suhu kamar 23˚ C yang merupakan specimen original skin horstab, kandidat doubler dan hasil doubler. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan pengujian tarik dan pengujian tarik geser pada material. Kekuatan bahan pada benda hasil repair doubler damage crack mengalami penambahan kekuatan dibandingkan dengan material original thickness dari horstab tersebut dan dibandingkan dengan specimen calon doubler tersebut. Dimana kekuatan bahan pada daerah perbaikan damage crack adalah 476 N/mm2 , sedangkan kekuatan bahan pada skin original horstab dan kandidat doubler adalah 421.896 N/mm2 dan 435.08 N/mm2.
