Abstract

Diesel engine emissions in addition to producing fine and invisible particles, also produce black smoke. To measure the density of black smoke emitted by a diesel engine an opacity meter can be used. One of the factors causing the high level of emission in this case the diesel emission opacity is fuel efficiency, one of which is due to spraying the fuel on the nozzle. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum fuel spray pressure that produces the lowest opacity value and analyze the effect of fuel spray pressure on the opacity value at different engine rotation speed. This research uses the Hyundai D4BB engine. This research method is by adjusting the pressure variations on the injector nozzle 125 kg/cm2 , 130 kg/cm2 , and 135 kg/cm2 . Each pressure variation was tested with variations of the engine rpm of 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm, 2000 rpm and 2500 rpm. The results of this study found that the optimum distance of 147.679 mm fuel spraying with injector nozzle pressure 130 kg/cm2 and the value of opacity is 9.51%. The opacity value is directly proportional to the engine rotation speed. Keyword : Opacity, Diesel Engine, Fuel Spray Pressure, Injector Nozzle Emisi mesin diesel selain menghasilkan partikel-partikel halus dan tak terlihat, juga menghasilkan asap hitam. Untuk mengukur kepekatan asap hitam hasil emisi mesin diesel dapat digunakan alat opacitymeter. Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan tingginya tingkat emisi dalam hal ini opasitas emisi diesel merupakan efisiensi bahan bakar, salah satunya dikarenakan penyemprotan bahan bakar pada nozzle. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui tekanan penyemprotan bahan bakar optimum yang menghasilkan nilai opasitas terendah dan menganalisis pengaruh tekanan penyemprotan bahan bakar terhadap nilai opasitas pada kecepatan putaran mesin yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan mesin Hyundai D4BB. Metode penelitian ini adalah dengan cara penyetelan variasi tekanan pada nozel injektor 125 kg/cm2 , 130 kg/cm2 , dan 135 kg/cm2 . Masing-masing variasi tekanan diuji dengan variasi rpm mesin 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm, 2000 rpm, dan 2500 rpm. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapat hasil bahwa jarak optimum penyemprotan bahan bakar 147,679 mm dengan tekanan nozel injektor 130 kg/cm2 dan nilai opasitasnya 9,51%. Nilai opasitas berbanding lurus dengan kecepatan putaran mesin. Kata kunci : Opasitas, Mesin Diesel, Tekanan Penyemprotan Bahan Bakar, Nozel Injektor
