Abstract

The level of fuel consumption for a vehicle is influenced by the character of the engine itself and the operating conditions. The parameters of operating conditions that can be regulated by the driver include engine speed, vehicle speed, transmission gear position, wheel pressure measurements, and the use of various vehicle accessories / accessories. This study aims to determine the ratio of output rpm with engine rpm variation to the value of fuel consumption by using an engine performance test tool. The engine used is the Mitsubishi L300 engine. The results of this study note that the output rotation in the transmission is affected by each transmission ratio. When the transmission ratio is large, the rotation in the transmission output will be smaller than the engine rpm. In tooth 1 the efficiency obtained was 23.1%. Conversely, if the transmission ratio is small, the rotation at the transmission output will be greater than the engine rpm. In gear 5 the efficiency obtained is 120.92%. The value of fuel consumption is directly proportional to the engine speed. When rpm is low, fuel consumption is low. When rpm is low, fuel consumption is low. When the engine rpm 800, the fuel consumption used is 3,737 kg / hour. Likewise, when high rpm, high fuel consumption. When the engine rpm is 1700 the fuel consumption used is 6,281 kg / hour. Keywords: rpm, diesel engine performance test, fuel consumption Tingkat konsumsi bahan bakar untuk kendaraan dipengaruhi oleh karakter mesin itu sendiri serta kondisi pengoperasiannya. Parameter kondisi operasi yang dapat diatur oleh pengemudi diantaranya adalah putaran mesin, kecepatan kendaraan, posisi gigi transmisi, ukuran tekanan roda, dan penggunaan berbagai perlengkapan/accessories kendaraan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan rpm output dengan variasi rpm engine terhadap nilai konsumsi bahan bakar dengan menggunakan alat uji prestasi mesin. Mesin yang digunakan adalah mesin Mitsubishi L300. Hasil dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa putaran output di transmisi dipengaruhi masing- masing rasio transmisi. Ketika rasio transmisi besar maka putaran di output transmisi akan lebih kecil dibandingkan rpm mesin. Pada gigi 1 efisiensi yang didapatkan adalah 23,1%. Sebaliknya jika rasio transmisi kecil maka putaran di output transmisi akan lebih besar dibandingkan rpm mesin. Pada gigi 5 efisiensi yang didapatkan adalah 120,92%.. Nilai konsumsi bahan bakar berbanding lurus dengan putaran mesin. Ketika rpm rendah maka konsumsi bahan bakar rendah. Ketika rpm rendah maka konsumsi bahan bakar rendah. Pada saat rpm mesin 800 konsumsi bahan bakar yang digunakan adalah 3,737 kg/jam. Begitu juga ketika rpm tinggi maka konsumsi bahan bakar tinggi.
