Abstract
Mostly a ship has 2 types of machine, which is Main Engine (ME) and Auxiliary Engine (AE). Where ME reserves as a propulsion systems, while Auxiliary Engine hold the role to supply electricity during the leaning ship and sailing. As like mostly the engine would have mode exhaust gas that dumped through the overboard by muffler. For not wasted the exhaust gas then utilized to help heat the water in boiler. On KM. Amrta Jaya 1 is already done by utilizing the exhaust gas from ME. But the thing is flamed less efficient considering the distance between ME to economizer too far, so it takes longer when the OHN (one hour notice). To solves the problem, then to warm the boiler water in economizer is diverted using exhaust gas from AE that has a closer range to economizer. Therefore, it is done the calculations to know the heat loss that happened from exhaust gas in AE to economizer by the pipe type of copper nickel with 1 inch of diameter and 2 cm of thick insulation. Heavy heats of losses are 10,539 watts where the heat loss is still under the maximum of the great heat loss of pipeline system that assumed of 923,52 watts. By using the exhaust gas of auxiliary engine, this is a savage commitment cost about Rp 7,875,000,00 when the ship does OHN. Keyword: Main Engine, Auxiliary Engine, Exhaust Gas, Heat Los, One Hour Notice.
