Abstract
The problem that generally occurs in the industrial world is the decline in utility performance, especially efficiency. PT. Krakatau Steel in its production process uses centrifugal pump type machines. Pump flow capacity is needed in this process because if the flow is reduced it will cause overheating of the bearing. In this method, three phase induction electric motor, 380 volt and 2900 r / min rotation. The results showed that the average efficiency was 70%. As for the results of the cfd analysis of pump performance by 60% .Then this shows the difference in the results of the absence of efficiency reduction. Because there is no specific pump data, difficulties in flow measurement, incorrect calibration of pressure gauges and measurement instruments. The performance of a pump can be determined from the pump performance graph through the cfd method namely efficiency curve, head curve, and power curve. From the power graph it is found that the greater the flowrate, the greater the power needed. The pump can operate at a maximum power of 185 kW. When the pump is at a maximum efficiency of 60%, the pump operates at 110 m head, flow rate 75 l / s, and power is 130 kW. The results of this study indicate field measurement data, the efficiency of combination pump I is 76.8%, II is 76.8% and III is 80% while pump efficiency from the manufacturer is 72%, there is a difference due to the pump operating system in parallel where efficiency increases. The results of simulations using CFD software pump efficiency obtained by 60%. Keyword : Centrifugal Pump, Pump Efficiency, CFD Permasalahan yang umumnya terjadi pada dunia Industri adalah penurunan kinerja utilitas, khususnya efisiensi. PT. Krakatau Steel dalam proses produksinya menggunakan mesin pompa jenis sentrifugal. Kapasitas aliran pompa sangat dibutuhkan pada proses ini karena apabila aliran berkurang akan menyebabkan overheating pada bearing. Pada metode ini motor listrik induksi 3 fasa, 380 volt dan putaran 2900 r/min. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata efesiensi sebesar 70%. Sedangkan untuk hasil analisis cfd performa pompa sebesar 60%.. Maka ini menunjukkan perbedaan hasil tidak adanya penurunana efesiensi. Disebabkan karena tidak ada data pompa yang spesifik, kesulitan dalam pengukuran aliran, kalibrasi yang tidak benar terhadap pengukur tekanan dan instrument pengukuran. Kinerja suatu pompa dapat ditentukan dari grafik performa pompa melalui metode cfd yaitu kurva efesiensi, kurva head, dan kurva daya. Nilai daya didapatkan bahwa semakin besar flowratenya, maka semakin besar daya yang dibutuhkan. Pompa dapat beroperasi pada daya maksimum 185 kW. Saat pompa berada pada efisiensi maksimum 60%, pompa beroperasi pada head 110 m, flow rate 75 l/s, dan daya 130 kW. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan data pengukuran lapangan, efesiensi pompa kombinasi I sebesar 76,8%, II sebesar 76,8% dan III sebesar 80% sedangkan efesiensi pompa dari pabrikan sebesar 72% terdapat perbedaan karena system pengoperasian pompa secara pararel dimana efesiensi meningkat. Hasil dari simulasi menggunakan software CFD efesiensi pompa didapat sebesar 60%. Kata Kunci : Pompa Sentrifugal, Efesiensi Pompa, CFD
