Abstract
Wind is a source of energy from nature that will never run out and has no chemical risk which is very dangerous. Because reserves and production of petroleum (fossil) fuels in Indonesia has decreased by 10% each year while the level of oil consumption rises by an average of 6% per year. In the period 2000-2012 energy consumption increased by an average of 2.9% per year. High population growth rate causes energy consumption will continue to increase, while fossil energy reserves continue to run low. It is estimated that Indonesia's coal potential will run out in 73 years, natural gas 31 years, and fossil energy can only last 10 years. Therefore in this research an analysis of the potential of wind energy as electrical energy has been carried out. To find out the average wind speed, a weather station tool is used, Davis Vantage Pro 2 Weather Station installed at Mercu Buana Meruya Selatan University, West Jakarta with a height of 25m measured for 4 weeks with an average wind speed of 0.78 - 2.78 m / s. The effective power of the wind produced by a wind turbine is between 0.34-11, watts with a rotor sweep 1 m in diameter. Keywords: Wind, fossil fuels, Davis Vantage Pro 2 Weather Station Angin merupakan sumber energi dari alam yang tidak akan pernah habis dan tidak memiliki resiko kimia yang sangat berbahaya. Karena cadangan dan produksi bahan bakar minyak bumi (fosil) di Indonesia mengalami penurunan 10% setiap tahunnya sedangkan tingkat konsumsi minyak rata-rata naik 6% per tahun. Pada periode tahun 2000-2012 konsumsi energi meningkat rata-rata sebesar 2,9% per tahun. Laju pertumbuhan penduduk yang tinggi menyebabkan konsumsi energi akan terus meningkat, sedangkan cadangan energi fosil terus menipis. Diperkirakan potensi batubara Indonesia akan habis 73 tahun lagi, gas bumi 31 tahun, dan energi fosil hanya dapat bertahan 10 tahun lagi. Oleh karena itu dalam penelitian ini telah dilakukan nya analisis potensi energi angin sebagai energi listrik. Untuk mengetahui kecepatan rata�rata angin digunakan alat stasiun cuaca yaitu Davis Vantage Pro 2 Weather Station yang dipasang di Universitas Mercu Buana Meruya Selatan , Jakarta Barat dengan ketinggian 25m yang diukur selama 4 minggu dengan kecepatan rata-rata angin 0,78 – 2,78 m/s. Daya efektif dari angin yang dihasilkan oleh suatu turbin angin antara 0,34 – 11, watt dengan diameter sapuan rotor 1 m. Kata Kunci : Angin, bahan bakar fosil, Davis Vantage Pro 2 Weather Station.
