Abstract
This research was conducted to examine the relationship between stress and addictive behavior of online smartphone game students of Mercu Buana Regular 2 Jakarta. The research method used is quantitative method, with a total of 70 students. The stress variable is a theory of Sarafino with a stress scale consisting of 34 items, while the addiction variable of smartphone online game from Lemmens which previously consisted of 21 items changed to 47 items after expert judgment. In this study using SPSS version 20.0 software by using correlation test analysis to see the relationship between stress and online game addiction behavior of students of Mercu Buana Reguler 2 Jakarta. The results of the study show that the correlation produced by this study has a negative meaning, which means the opposite relationship with the values r -0.011 and p 0.925 (Ha was accepted, Ho was rejected). It means, when the stress of students getting high, online game addiction behavior will be low. Keywords: Stress, Addiction to smartphone online games, Regular 2 Students Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji hubungan antara stress danperilaku kecanduan game online smartphone mahasiswa Mercu Buana Reguler 2 Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif, dengan total responden 70 mahasiswa. Variabel stres merupakan teori dari Sarafino dengan skala stres yang terdiri dari 34 item, sedangkan variabel kecanduan game online smartphone dari Lemmens yang sebelumnya terdiri dari 21 item berubah menjadi 47 item setelah dilakukan expert judgement. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan software SPSS versi 20.0 dengan menggunakan analisa uji korelasi untuk melihat hubungan antara stres dengan perilaku kecanduan game online smartphone mahasiswa Mercu Buana Reguler 2 Jakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa korelasi yang dihasilkan penelitian ini berisfat negatif yang artinya hubungan berlawanan dengan nilai r -0,011 dan p 0,925 (Ha diterima, Ho ditolak). Dengan demikian, apabila stres mahasiswa tinggi artinya perilaku kecanduan bermain game online smartphone rendah, begitu pun sebaliknya.
