Abstract

The increase in the economy and population causes the number of vehicles on the road to increase. Causing congestion on the highway. Traffic lights is one method of traffic assistance. Currently road traffic is regulated by traffic lights using a traffic density prediction system and the timing is fixed. By utilizing the internet network allows traffic lights to be monitored and controlled remotely. This is the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT). In this study, a prototype traffic light system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) was designed, where the traffic light is controlled using an Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller and an HD Webcam C270 camera is used to check the number of vehicles per lane and the MG995 servo motor to point the camera at the point of the path. The camera detection results are processed by a server computer that uses the OpenCV image with the Haar Cascade Clasifier method to determine the number of objects. The value of the number of vehicles used for traffic light firing time and stored on the local web server database, besides that the web server can be used for traffic past time allocation and monitoring. The results obtained by Arduino Mega 2560 can be controlled from a local web server via serial communication, and the detection results of vehicle objects (toy cars) have a value of 88% and an error rate of 12% with the colors of the detected vehicle objects, namely red, yellow, green, blue, orange and combinations. Meningkatnya perekonomian dan jumlah penduduk menyebabkan jumlah kendaraan di jalan raya semakin meningkat. Sehingga menyebabkan kemacetan di jalan raya. Lampu lalu lintas atau traffic light adalah salah satu metode untuk mengatur arus lalu lintas. Saat ini lalu lintas di persimpangan jalan diatur oleh lampu lalu lintas menggunakan sistem prediksi kepadatan lalu lintas dan penyalaan waktu dibuat tetap. Dengan memanfaatkan jaringan internet memungkinkan traffic light bisa dimonitoring dan dikendalikan dari jarak jauh. Ini adalah konsep Internet of Things (IoT). Pada penelitian ini dirancang suatu prototipe sistem traffic light berbasis Internet of Things (IoT), dimana traffic light dikontrol menggunakan mikrokontroler Arduino mega 2560 dan sebuah kamera HD Webcam C270 digunakan untuk mendeteksi jumlah kendaraan setiap jalur dan motor servo MG995 untuk mengarahkan kamera pada titik jalur persimpangan. Hasil deteksi kamera diolah oleh komputer server menggunakan pemrosesan citra OpenCV dengan metode Haar Cascade Clasifier untuk menentukan jumlah objek kendaraan. Nilai jumlah kendaraan digunakan untuk mengatur waktu penyalaan lampu lalu lintas atau traffic light dan disimpan pada database web server lokal, selain itu web server dapat digunakan untuk mengatur waktu lampu lalu lintas dan monitoring. Hasil yang diperoleh Arduino mega 2560 dapat dikontrol dari web server lokal melalui komunikasi serial, dan hasil deteksi objek kendaraan (mobil mainan) memiliki akurasi sebesar 88% dan error rate sebesar 12% dengan warna objek kendaraan yang dideteksi yaitu warna merah, kuning, hijau, biru, orange dan kombinasi.
