Abstract

Circulating Water Pump (CWP) is a vertical centrifugal flow type axial mixed pump that has the main function of pumping seawater to the condenser tube which is used to condense the steam of Low Pressure (LP) turbine output. The application of an interlocking system to a Circulating Water Pump (CWP) at the Suralaya Power Plant aims to secure the process and the CWP security. However, the use of system voltage that is not in accordance with the design of the interlock system evidently cause a number of problems. This causes a fairly high temperature rise in the relay coil. Increased coil temperature causes the coil resistance to increase considerably. Increased coil resistance followed by a significant drop in the magnetic field causes a decrease in relay performance, especially in relays that function as a bridge tripping the low CWP lube water flow signal ie 80WXT. Because of the location of the relay that coincides among other relays that are energized so that the temperature of 80WXT rises higher. Although the magnetic field drop does not have a major effect on the relay's work because the resulting magnetic field is still strong enough to attract relay contacts, but because the contact function of the 80WXT relay is as a bridge between the contacts of the 52Y1 and 30X relays, at any time the fuse control breaks the condition this is a big risk of causing CWP trip because of the delay of the relay response when normalizing the control fuse. Circulating Water Pump (CWP) merupakan pompa bertipe vertical centrifugal aliran axial mixed yang memiliki fungsi utama memompa air laut menuju tube-tube condenser yang digunakan untuk mengkondensasikan uap keluaran Low Preasure(LP) turbin. Penerapan sistem interlock pada sebuah Circulating Water Pump (CWP) pada pembangkit PLTU Suralaya bertujuan untuk mengamankan jalannya proses serta pengamanan CWP ketika beroperasi normal dari unit yang paling kecil sampai keseluruhan sistem. Namun penggunaan tegangan kontrol yang tidak sesuai dengan spesifikasi standar yang digunakan oleh relay didalam sistem interlock yakni sebesar 135VDC dari tegangan standar sebesar 125VDC atau sebesar 108% dari tegangan standar kumparan menimbulkan sejumlah masalah. Hal ini menyebabkan kenaikan temperatur yang cukup tinggi pada kumparan relay. Temperatur kumparan yang meningkat menyebabkan resistansi kumparan meningkat cukup besar dikarenakan sifat penghantar penyusun kumparan tersebut (tembaga). Meningkatnya resistansi kumparan diikuti oleh drop medan magnet yang signifikan menyebabkan menurunnya kinerja relay terutama pada relay yang berfungsi sebagai jembatan tripping signal flow lube water CWP low yakni 80WXT karena letak relay tersebut yang berhimpitan diantara relay lain yang energized sehingga temperatur 80WXT meningkat lebih tinggi dari 52Y1 karena tambahan radiasi panas dari dua relay yang menghimpitnya. Walaupun drop medan magnet tidak berpengaruh besar pada kerja relay karena medan magnet yang dihasilkan masih cukup kuat untuk menarik kontak�kontak relay, namun karena fungsi kontak dari relay 80WXT sebagai penghubung antara kontak dari 52Y1 dan relay 30X (signal penggerak tripping coil) maka saat sewaktu-waktu fuse kontrol putus kondisi ini beresiko besar menyebabkan CWP trip karena keterlambatan respon relay saat penormalan fuse kontrol.
