Abstract

Engklek merupakan permainan tradisional lompat lompatan pada bidangbidang datar yang di gambar di atas tanah. Pemain melompat-lompat dari kotak satu ke kotak berikutnya. Kotak yang berisi pecahan genting tidak boleh diinjak. Pemain dinyatakan kalah jika menginjak garis kotak atau bagian luar kotak. Saat ini jarang terlihat permainan engklek dimainkan oleh anak-anak terutama di kota besar. Maka dari itu engklek perlu pembaruan. Engklek merupakan salah satu warisan budaya yang perlu untuk dilestarikan dan dipertahankan keberadaannya. Begitu banyaknya permainan tradisional di Indonesia dan manfaat yang dapat diambil dari permainan-permainan tersebut, maka akan sangat disayangkan apabila permainan tradisional warisan nenek moyang rakyat Indonesia itu hilang. Bukan antipati terhadap permainan modern dan bukan berarti permainan modern tidak memberi manfaat. Tetapi permainan tradisional akan menjadi penyeimbang. Ketika permainan modern yang mengedepankan individual maka perlu di imbangi dengan permainan tradisional yang bersifat sosial. Engklek Step City hadir sebagai media bermain anak yang mengadaptasi dari permainan tradisional Indonesia yaitu engklek itu sendiri. Itu artinya engklek perlu ada pembaruan, tetapi bagaimana pembaruan tersebut tetap mendapat perhatian dari para penggunanya. Kata Kunci: Permainan tradisional, Engklek, Warisan Budaya, Permainan Modern. Engklek is a traditional jumping jump game in flat areas that are pictured above the ground. Players jump from one box to the next. A box containing precarious fragments should not be stepped on. The player is defeated if stepping on the box line or the outside of the box. Nowadays it is rarely seen that crank games are played by children, especially in big cities. So from that crank needs updates. Engklek is one of the cultural heritages that needs to be preserved and maintained. So many traditional games in Indonesia and the benefits that can be taken from these games, it will be very unfortunate if the traditional game of the ancestors of the Indonesian people is lost. It is not antipathy towards modern games and does not mean that modern games do not provide benefits. But traditional games will be a balance. When modern games that prioritize individuals need to be balanced with traditional social games. Engklek Step City is present as a playground for children who adapt from traditional Indonesian games, namely the crank itself.
