Abstract

Mobil berjenis LMPV (Low Multi Purpose Vehicle) merupakan jenis kendaraan diminati oleh masyarakat umumnya di Indonesia. Aerodinamika pada mobil adalah hal yang wajib diperhatikan dalam mendesain bodi mobil pada umumnya, Dengan aerodinamika yang tepat maka akan menghasilkan banyak keuntungan-keuntungan diantaranya adalah hematnya penggunaan bahan bakar, memaksimalkan fungsi kerja mesin yang menjadi sumber daya dorong pada mobil dan akan meningkatkan gaya aerodinamika yang terjadi pada mobil meliputi gaya angkat (lift force), gaya samping (side force), dan gaya hambat (drag force). Salah satu bagian dari mobil yang akan mempengaruhi nilai koefisien hambat dan koefisien angkat adalah spoiler. Spoiler umum nya berada di bagian belakang atas dari bodi mobil berjenis LMPV, spoiler pada mobil juga dapat berfungsi untuk menambah keindahan mobil tersebut, sehingga tidak jarang yang melakukan modifikasi spoiler untuk alasan seni. Bentuk, ukuran, dan sudut pada spoiler akan mempengaruhi nilai koefisien hambat dan koefisien angkatnya. Dengan menganalisis desain bodi mobil LMPV dengan metode komputansi dengan model shear strees transports menggunakan simulasi Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) terhadap tiga buah spoiler dengan variasi ukuran 100, 170, 270 mm dengan menggunakan kecepatan 80, 100, 130 , 150, dan 180 km/jam diperoleh hasil spoiler paling efektif yaitu ukuran 270 mm memiliki koefisien gaya angkat (CL) 0,2262 dan koefisien gaya hambat (CD) 0,4829. Kata Kunci: LMPV (Low Multi Purpose Vehicle), Aerodinamika, lift force, side force, drag force, Spoiler, Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) LMPV type car (Low Multi Purpose Vehicle) is a type of vehicle in demand by the general public in Indonesia. Aerodynamics in cars is a matter that must be considered in designing the body of the car in general, with the right aerodynamics it will produce many advantages including saving fuel usage, maximizing the work function of the engine which is a source of driving power on the car and will improve the aerodynamic style what happens to the car includes lift force (lift force), side force (side force), and drag (drag force). One part of the car that will affect the drag coefficient value and lift coefficient is a spoiler. The general spoiler is on the upper rear of the LMPV type car body, the spoiler on the car can also function to add to the beauty of the car, so it is not uncommon to make spoiler modifications for artistic reasons. The shape, size, and angle of the spoiler will affect the drag coefficient and lift coefficient. By analyzing the body design of the LMPV with the computational method with the shear stress transport model using Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulation on three spoilers with variations in sizes 100, 170, 270 mm using speeds of 80, 100, 130, 150, and 180 km /hour, the most effective spoiler results are obtained, namely 270 mm has a lift force coefficient (CL) -0.2262 and drag coefficient (CD) 0.4829.
