Abstract

This research aims to test the influence of debt to equity ratio, institutional ownership, and agency cost. The company's performance is measured by the ratio of return on equity, institutional ownership is measured by the percentage of shares ownership held by the institution divided by the number of shares in circulation, and the agency cost measured by operating expenses divided With net sales. The research samples consist of 28 observations of the company's consumer goods industry listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2015 to 2018. Multiple regression analyses were used to test hypotheses in this study. The result showed that a debt to equity ratio significant impact on the company performance, no significant impact on institutional ownership of the company performance, agency cost significant impact on the company performance. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh debt to equity ratio, kepemilikan institusional, dan agency cost. Kinerja perusahaan diukur melalui rasio pengembalian atas ekuitas, kepemilikan institusional diukur dengan persentase kepemilikan saham yang dipegang oleh institusi dibagi dengan jumlah saham yang beredar, dan agency cost diukur dengan beban operasi dibagi dengan penjualan bersih. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 28 observasi perusahaan Industri Barang Konsumsi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dari tahun 2015 hingga 2018. Analisis regresi berganda digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis dalam penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa debt to equity ratio berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan, kepemilikan institusional tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan, agency cost berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan.
