Abstract

PT Fusion Dinamika is a company engaged in the field of information technology, especially in open source technology, namely Linux. SLES 15 is a multimodular operating system that can be implemented on traditional infrastructure, softwaredefined infrastructure, or combining both. SLES 15 is an operating system that can run on server computers, personal computers, mainframe computers, supercomputers, and minicomputers. This operating system can also be run on hypervisor, baremetal, and cloud computing infrastructure. Like other operating systems, weaknesses and security at the application level makes Linux vulnerable to a variety of malicious attacks. Over the years, many tools and techniques have been developed for "hardening" the Linux operating system in an effort to reduce the risk posed by software. The shell is a command translator that helps us to run various programs and execute certain commands on the Linux operating system. Bash (Bourne Again Shell) is the most commonly used shell on Linux. In this research, Bash Scripting will be used to carry out security and hardening of the SLES 15 operating system to improve security and facilitate users in carrying out security and hardening processes where users can reduce command input on the command line. Hardening configuration is done by referring to some existing standard hardening documentation. In this study, the authors used several references as consideration, including: PT Fusion Dynamics Hardening Checklist Form, SUSE official documentation of Hardening Guide on SUSE Linux Enterprise 2015, Center for Internet Security Documentation about CIS SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 Benchmark version 2.0 and vulnerability recommendations Scan using Lynis software. Key words: Bash Scripting, Hardening, IDS, Linux PT Fusion Dinamika adalah sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang teknologi informasi khususnya pada teknologi open source yaitu Linux. SLES 15 adalah sistem operasi multimodul yang dapat diimplementasikan pada infrastruktur tradisional, infrastruktur software-defined, atau menggabungkan keduanya. SLES 15 merupakan sistem operasi yang mampu berjalan pada komputer server, personal komputer, komputer mainframe, superkomputer, maupun minikomputer. Sistem operasi ini juga bisa di jalankan pada infrastruktur hypervisor, baremetal, maupun komputasi awan. Seperti sistem operasi lain, kelemahan dan keamanan pada level aplikasi membuat linux rentan terhadap beragam serangan berbahaya. Selama bertahun-tahun, banyak tools dan teknik telah dikembangkan untuk "hardening" sistem operasi linux dalam upaya untuk mengurangi risiko yang ditimbulkan oleh perangkat lunak. Shell adalah penerjemah perintah yang membantu kita untuk menjalankan berbagai program dan pelaksanaan perintah tertentu pada sistem operasi Linux. Bash (Bourne Again Shell) merupakan shell yang paling umum digunakan pada Linux. Dalam penelitian ini, Bash Scripting akan digunakan untuk melakukan proses security dan hardening sistem operasi SLES 15 untuk meningkatkan keamanan serta mempermudah pengguna dalam melakukan proses security dan hardening dimana pengguna dapat mengurangi input perintah pada command line. Konfigurasi hardening dilakukan dengan mengacu kepada beberapa dokumentasi standar hardening yang sudah ada. Adapun dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan beberapa referensi sebagai bahan pertimbangan, diantaranya: Formulir Hardening Checklist PT Fusion Dinamika, Dokumentasi resmi SUSE tentang Panduan Hardening pada SUSE Linux Enterprise 2015, Dokumentasi Center for Internet Security tentang CIS SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 Benchmark versi 2.0 dam Rekomendasi vulnerability scan menggunakan perangkat lunak lynis.
