Abstract

In a Coalfeeder generation unit functions as an equipment that controls the demand for coal in the boiler as the main fuel for the PLTU, in a Coalfeeder equipment there are instrumentation equipment that is very important as a processing unit, including Yamato CFC 201 & PLC (Programable Logic Control) Siemens LOGO. This equipment functions as a processing unit, converter and communicates local equipment with DCS (Distribute Control System) so that Coalfeeder equipment can be controlled and operated by the operator from the CCR (Central Control Room). The number of problems, especially in the field of instrumentation, was damaged in the PLC both in the Processor (CPU) module and the Input / Output (I / O) module. From several cases identified problems that occur especially in PLCs have in common, namely experiencing a short circuit on the part of the PLC. This is very detrimental to the reliability of the unit because the problem of damage to the PLC Coalfeeder results in unit derating. From the identification of the equipment, additional protection was made to the Coalfeeder panel, especially the protection of PLC equipment, by adding fuse and varistor protection to the power supply line of the PLC equipment. Fuse serves to protect PLC damage due to short circuits. Fuse has a fast break time of less than one cycle frequency (<0.02s). While the overvoltage in the supply can be secured by adding a varistor in parallel with the PLC. This modification is intended to avoid damage to the PLC caused by a short circuit so that the Coalfeeder equipment remains reliable. Keywords: PLC, Protection, Fuse, Varistor Pada suatu unit pembangkitan Coalfeeder berfungsi sebagai peralatan yang mengkontrol kebutuhan batubara di dalam boiler sebagai bahan bakar utama PLTU, pada suatu peralatan Coalfeeder terdapat peralatan instrumentasi yang sangat penting sebagai unit pemproses, antara lain Yamato CFC 201 & PLC (Programable Logic Control) Siemens LOGO. Peralatan peralatan ini berfungsi sebagai unit pemproses, pengkonversi dan yang mengkomunikasikan peralatan lokal dengan DCS (Distribute Control System) . Banyaknya masalah terutama pada bidang instrumentasi yang mengalami kerusakan pada PLC baik pada modul Processor (CPU) maupun Modul Input/Output (I/O). Dari beberapa kasus diidentifikasi permasalahan yang terjadi khususnya di PLC memiliki kesamaan, yaitu mengalami short circuit pada bagian bagian PLC. Hal ini sangat merugikan bagi kehandalan unit karena permasalahan kerusakan pada PLC Coalfeeder mengakibatkan unit derating. Dari identifikasi peralatan tersebut maka dilakukan penambahan proteksi pada panel Coalfeeder khususnya pada proteksi peralatan PLC, dengan cara menambahkan proteksi fuse dan varistor pada jalur power supply peralatan PLC. Fuse berfungsi untuk melindungi kerusakan plc akibat short circuit. Fuse memiliki waktu pemutusan yg cepat yaitu kurang dari satu siklus frekuensi (<0.02s). Sedangkan tegangan lebih pada suplai dapat diamankan dengan cara menambahkan Varistor secara paralel dengan PLC. Modifikasi ini dimaksudkan untuk menghindari adanya kerusakan PLC yang diakibatkan short circuit sehingga menunjang peralatan Coalfeeder tetap handal. Kata Kunci : PLC, Proteksi, Fuse, Varisto
