Abstract

The plumbing system in a multi-storey building is the most important part that cannot be separated. In a multi-storey building the plumbing system functions to provide clean water and dispose of dirty water. There are 2 sources of clean water used. The first source from a water company such as Palyja and the second source from ground water. From these two sources, clean water used in multi-storey buildings is first stored in a container or reservoir called a ground water tank, from the ground water tank it is transferred using an induction motor pump through a discharge pipe or connecting pipe to be accommodated in a storage tank on the floor. the very top named roof tank. The problem is that when the induction motor is on or works to transfer water through the discharge pipe, the pipe experiences a thumping sound and vibration when the star and when the induction motor is off or stops. The method used to overcome the sound of banging and vibration in the discharge pipe of a 3 phase induction motor for clean water in the MCN TV experimental building uses the star delta starting system method which will be changed using the variable speed drive starting system to try to change the acceleration and deceleration so as not there is a fluid surge in the discharge pipe. From the results of the tests that have been carried out in this study, when there was a booming sound produced in the star delta starting system, 67.9 and 91.2 db were obtained and when changed with the variable speed drive starting system there was no banging sound. For testing the vibration that occurs in the discharge pipe of the 3 phase induction motor produced in the star delta starting system, it is obtained when the star is 1.127 m / s2 and when the induction motor is Off it is 3.902 m / s2. After changing it with a variable speed drive system starting the vibration value of 0 m / s2. This means that the variable speed drive starting system is very good at preventing thumps and vibrations. Keywords: Vibration, Induction Motor, Noise, Star Delta, Variable Speed Drive Sistem plumbing pada suatu gedung bertingkat merupakan bagian terpenting yang tidak dapat dipisahkan. Di Gedung bertingkat sistem plumbing berfungsi untuk menyediakan air bersih dan membuang air kotor, Sumber air bersih yang digunakan terdapat 2 sumber. Sumber pertama dari perusahaan air seperti Palyja dan sumber kedua dari Air tanah. Dari kedua sumber tersebut Air bersih yang digunakan di gedung bertingkat pertama kali ditampung di suatu wadah atau bak penampung yang bernama ground water tank, dari Ground water tank di transfer menggunakan Motor induksi pump melalui pipa Discharge atau pipa penghubung untuk di tampung ke bak penampung di lantai paling atas yang bernama roof tank. Permasalahannya adalah ketika Motor induksi on atau bekerja mentransfer air melalui pipa discharge, pipa tersebut mengalami suara dentuman dan getaran ketika star dan ketika motor induksi off atau berhenti. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengatasi suara dentuman dan getaran pada pipa discharge motor induksi 3 phasa air bersih di gedung mnc tv ini dengan mengubah metode sistem pengasutan star delta menjadi sistem pengasutan variable speed drive untuk mencoba merubah akselerasi dan dekselerasi agar tidak ada lonjakan (surge) fluida pada pipa discharge. Dari hasil pengujian yang telah dilakukan pada penelitian ini ketika terjadi Suara dentuman yang dihasilkan pada sistem pengasutan star delta diperoleh antara 67,9 sampai 91,2 db dan ketika diubah dengan sistem pengasutan variable speed drive tidak ada suara dentuman. Untuk pengujian getaran yang terjadi pada pipa discharge motor induksi 3 phasa yang dihasilkan pada sistem pengasutan star delta diperoleh ketika star sebesar 1,127 m/s2dan ketika motor induksi Off sebesar 3,902 m/s2. Setelah di ubah dengan sistem pengasutan variable speed drive nilai getaran 0 m/s2. Ini artinya sistem pengasutan variable speed drive sangat bekerja baik untuk mencegah suara dentuman dan getaran.
