Abstract

Suralaya power plant unit 5-7 is one of power plant that is an important supplier of electricity, especially in Java. In process of its operation, own electrical system or auxiliary electricity, which is an important system. The reliability of the auxiliary electricity is maintained to supply a power for own equipment. The protection coordination of the auxiliary electricity is a concern for saving the electrical system from trouble, especially overcurrent. So far, the protection coordination study is not accordance with IEEE 242-2001 time grading standard yet and without any consideration of arc flash incident energy. In this final project, there will be an analysis of the protection coordination of existing conditions, and resetting will be done if there are deficiencies using ETAP simulations and manual calculations according to standards while considering arc flash incident energy. From the results of the analysis, protection coordination mismatches are still found. Interval time of relay is too fast that is still below the 0.2s time grading. Then the coordination resetting is performed to get the safe operation relay value, with time grading between 0.2s-0.3s. Reset interval time has results in safer coordination, besides resetting also has an impact on the incident energy which is higher but still at the same level, at hazard level 3. Related to incident energy, referring to the NFPA-70E standard then personal protective equipment is determined as a system appropriate safety. Keywords: coordination of protection, time grading, arc flash incident energy PLTU Suralaya unit 5-7 merupakan salah satu unit pembangkitan yang memiliki peranan penting dalam suplai listrik khususnya pulau jawa. Dalam proses operasinya, salah satu didalamnya terdapat sistem kelistrikan pemakaian sendiri, yang mana merupakan sistem yang penting. Kehandalan sistem kelistrikan sungguh dijaga demi memenuhi kebutuhan listrik peralatan penunjang. Koordinasi proteksi sistem kelistrikan menjadi perhatian karena bertugas penting dalam menyelamatkan sistem kelistrikan dari gangguan, terutama gangguan arus lebih. Sejauh ini, studi koordinasi proteksi masih belum sesuai time grading standar IEEE 242-2001 dan tanpa ada pertimbangan arc flash incident energy. Pada tugas akhir ini akan dilakukan analisa koordinasi proteksi kondisi existing, dan akan dilakukan resetting jika terdapat kekurangan dengan menggunakan simulasi ETAP dan perhitungan manual sesuai standar dengan tetap mempertimbangkan arc flash incident energy. Dari hasil analisa, masih ditemukan ketidaksesuaian koordinasi proteksi. Dimana waktu operasi rele terlampau cepat yaitu masih dibawah time grading 0,2s. Maka dilakukan resetting koordinasi hingga didapatkan nilai aman operasi rele, dengan time grading antara 0,2s-0,3s. Resetting kali ini menghasilkan koordinasi yang lebih aman, selain itu resetting juga berdampak terhadap incident energy yang semakin tinggi akan tetapi tetap pada level yang sama, yaitu hazard level 3. Terkait incident energy, merujuk pada standar NFPA-70E maka ditentukanlah personal protective equipment sebagai sistem keselamatan yang sesuai.
