Abstract

The formation of a wide concavity by an open mining method can be a place for accumulating water, both rainwater and seepage water that can cause disruption of mining activities. PT XYZ provides a dewatering management services by renting a dewatering pump for mining drainage. Breakdown that occur at the pump are detrimental to the customer and PT XYZ. The total breakdown for 3 months was 2.712 hours with a loss of IDR 234.551.937. Company must tidy up to reduce losses, such as what is called kaizen which is to make changes or continuous improvements to be better. The purpose of this study is to reduce the duration of pump breakdown by knowing the cause through the PDCA method (Plan, Do, Check, Action). The main factor causing the long breakdown time is the spare parts factor, then looking for the cause of the problem from the spare parts factor through the fishbone diagram and making improvements and standardization. After implementing the PDCA method, the reduction in breakdown duration can be overcome by good material management and operator training. Keywords: Breakdown, Kaizen PDCA, Dewatering Pumps Terbentukanya sebuah cekungan oleh metode open pit mining dapat menjadi tempat terakumulasinya air, baik air hujan maupun air rembesan tanah yang dapat menyebabkan terganggunya aktifitas penambangan. PT XYZ hadir menawarkan jasa dewatering management dengan menyewakan pompa dewatering untuk pengeringan tambang. Breakdown yang terjadi pada pompa merugikan customer dan PT XYZ. Total breakdown selama 3 bulan adalah 2.712 jam dengan kerugian IDR 234.551.937. Perusahaan harus berbenah untuk mengurangi kerugian, seperti apa yang disebut dengan kaizen yaitu melakukan perubahan atau perbaikan yang terus menerus untuk menjadi lebih baik. Tujuan penelitian ini menurunkan lamanya durasi breakdown pompa dengan mengetahui penyebabnya melalui metode PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action). Faktor utama penyebab lamanya durasi breakdown adalah faktor spare parts, selanjutnya mencari penyebab masalah dari faktor spare parts tersebut melalui fishbone diagram serta melakukan perbaikan dan standarisasi. Setelah menjalankan metode PDCA ini, pengurangan lamanya durasi breakdown dapat diatasi dengan manajemen material yang baik dan training operator.
