Abstract
Wind kinetic energy is an environmentally friendly renewable energy source that is increasingly developing as a substitute for fossil energy which can lead to global warming and world climate change. Wind turbines are able to convert wind energy into electrical energy with the help of generators. This Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (TASV) is designed according to the wind speed in Indonesia, which is an average of 4 to 6 m / s, has a turbine height H = 3.0 m, Diameter D = 3.41 with an Aspect Ratio (H / D) AR = 0.88, can catch the wind from any direction. This simulation study of Vertical Axis Wind Turbine aims to find the value of the power coefficient Cp and to find the value of the turbine shaft power Pt. This design is designed in 2D & 3D using SolidWorks software and then imported into Ansys Fluent software to simulate this turbine. Simulations are carried out to find the results of torque, force, and pressure. From the calculation results, the power coefficient (Cp) is 0.375 with the results of the experiment in the wind tunnel with the same vertical wind turbine prototype, and the turbine shaft power which reaches 1500 watts is at a wind speed of 9 m / s. Keywords : wind turbine, vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT), CFD, SolidWorks, Ansys Energi kinetic angin merupakan sumber energi terbarukan ramah lingkungan yang semakin berkembang sebagai energi pengganti energi fosil yang dapat mengakibatkan pemanasan global dan perubahan iklim dunia. Turbin angin mampu mengubah energi angin menjadi energi listrik dengan bantuan generator. Turbin Angin Sumbu Vertikal (TASV) ini didesain sesuai dengan kecepatan angin di Indonesia yaitu rata rata 4 sd 6 m/s,mempunyai ukuran Tinggi Turbin H=3.0 m ,Diameter D=3.41 dengan Aspek Rasio (H/D) AR=0.88, dapat menangkap angin dari segala arah. Studi simulasi terhadap TASV ini bertujuan untuk mencari besar nilai koefisien daya Cp dan mencari nilai daya poros turbin Pt. Perancangan ini di desain 2D & 3D menggunakan software SolidWorks dan kemudian di import ke software Ansys Fluent untuk dilakukan simulasi pada turbin ini. Simulasi yang dilakukan untuk mencari hasil dari torsi, gaya, dan tekanan pada turbin. Dari hasil perhitungan didapat hasil koefisien daya (Cp) adalah 0,375 dengan hasil experiment di wind tunnel dengan prototype turbin angin vertikal yang sama, dan daya poros turbin yang mencapai 1500 watt adalah dengan kecepatan angin 9 m/s.
