Abstract

Alternative energy is energy whose availability is very abundant in nature and can be renewed, one of which is water energy which can be used for Pico Hydro Power Plants. This study aims to take advantage of the abundant potential of rivers, especially mountainous areas but has not been used optimally. This research was conducted using the Experimental Research Method, namely by conducting direct testing in the field to obtain causal data through experiments in order to obtain empirical data. From the results of testing the Hydrocoil turbine on the Cigirang River with a water drop height of 2 meters and an average flow rate in the pipe of 0.014 m3/second when no load produces an average turbine rotation of 918 rpm, torque 2.61 Nm, voltage 10.39 Volt and current 0.96 Ampere with 91.30% efficiency. Energi alternatif merupakan energi yang ketersediaannya sangat melimpah di alam dan dapat diperbaharui, salah satunya adalah energi air yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Piko Hidro. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan potensi sungai yang melimpah khususnya daerah pegunungan namun belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Metode Penelitian Eksperimental (Experimental Research), yaitu dengan melakukan pengujian secara langsung di lapangan untuk memperoleh data sebab akibat melalui eksperimen guna mendapatkan data empiris. Dari hasil pengujian turbin Hydrocoil pada Sungai Cigirang dengan tinggi jatuh air 2 meter dan debit rata-rata aliran dalam pipa 0,014 m3/detik adalah pada saat tanpa beban menghasilkan putaran turbin rata-rata 918 rpm, torsi 2,61 N.m, tegangan 10,39 Volt dan arus 0,96 Ampere dengan efisiensi 91,30 %.
