Abstract

The smooth flow of production, one of which is largely determined by the existence of procedures for the management of production facilities, with the aim of minimizing material handling so as to increase morale and performance of the operator. At PT Crompton Prima Switchgear Indonesia, all this time the implementation of production activities is experiencing obstacles due to the current layout conditions that are not standard according to good layout criteria, causing a long material handling trajectory, resulting in Material Handling Costs (OMH) which greater than. Based on these problems, a study was conducted to improve the smoothness of the production process by examining the layout of the facilities using the CORELAP and BLOCPLAN Algorithm methods, this method can calculate the degree of closeness between work stations, build and change the layout by finding the total mileage that is minimally traversed in material transfer. The evaluation and design of the plant layout aims to design a new plant layout that can utilize the area well and produce a smooth material flow so as to reduce material handling costs. The design of the factory layout is carried out in all production department facilities using the help of the BLOCPLAN software program. Based on the analysis of the BLOCPLAN program software calculations generated 5 alternative layout proposals. The next step, the proposed layout has a value R-score of 0.81, meaning the best of the 5 alternative layout proposals. With the implementation of the proposed layout, there will be a reduction in the cost of material handling from Rp219,101,124 (initial layout) to Rp133,624,385 (proposed layout) a 39% reduction in costs will occur. Kelancaran aliran produksi salah satunya sangat ditentukan oleh adanya tata cara pengaturan fasilitas-fasilitas produksi, dengan tujuan meminimasi material handling sehingga dapat menaikkan moral kerja dan performance dari operator. Pada PT Crompton Prima Switchgear Indonesia, selama ini pelaksanaan aktivitas produksi mengalami hambatan yang disebabkan oleh kondisi tata letak yang sekarang belum standar sesuai dengan kriteria tata letak yang baik sehingga menyebabkan terjadinya panjang lintasan material handling yang jauh, sehingga menimbulkan Ongkos Material Handling (OMH) yang lebih besar. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka dilakukan penelitian untuk meningkatkan kelancaran proses produksi dengan menelaah tata letak fasilitas dengan menggunakan metode Algoritma CORELAP dan BLOCPLAN, metode ini dapat memperhitungkan derajat kedekatan antar stasiun kerja, membangun dan mengubah tata letak dengan mencari total jarak tempuh yang minimal dilalui dalam perpindahan material. Evaluasi dan perancangan tata letak pabrik ini bertujuan untuk merancang tata letak pabrik baru yang dapat memanfaatkan area dengan baik dan menghasilkan aliran material yang lancar sehingga dapat mengurangi ongkos material handling. Perancangan tata letak pabrik ini dilakukan pada seluruh fasilitas departemen produksi dengan menggunakan bantuan software program BLOCPLAN. Berdasarkan analisis perhitungan software program BLOCPLAN dihasilkan 5 alternatif layout usulan. Langkah selanjutnya, layout usulan dipilih mempunyai nilai mempunyai nilai R-score 0.81, berarti terbaik dari 5 alternatif layout usulan. Dengan penerapan tata letak usulan, maka terjadi pengurangan ongkos material handling dari Rp219.101.124 (layout awal) menjadi Rp133.624.385 (layout usulan) terjadi penurunan biaya sebesar 39%.
