Abstract

Geosynthetics have been widely used as a method of soil improvement, apart from being cheap, they are also easy to apply, and need further comprehension. Parameters in soil reinforcement using geosynthetics are the angle of shear between the soil and geosynthetics (δ) and cohesion (c) obtained through direct shear test. In this study, direct shear testing was carried out in three ways, namely testing without using geosynthetics, testing using dummy blocks and testing wrapping soil samples with geosynthetics. The results of the interaction with each type of geosynthetics can be different, so this study uses 4 types of geosynthetics, namely geogrid, woven geotextile, geocomposite, and geomembrane. The results of the analysis using the Plaxis program obtained a safety factor value without reinforcement of 1.044, with the reinforcement of woven geotextile Maxmat 200 and geocomposite PEC 50/50 of 1.633, with the reinforcement of woven geotextile DJ15 of 1.652. The difference in the results of the safety factor value without reinforcement with the safety factor value using geosynthetic reinforcement has increased. This is due to the interface parameters between the soil and geosynthetics (Rinter) and the technical parameters of each geosynthetic type (tensile strength and stiffness). Geosintetik sudah banyak digunakan sebagai metode perbaikan tanah, selain harganya murah juga penerapannya mudah, serta perlu pemahaman lebih lanjut. Parameter dalam perkuatan tanah menggunakan geosintetik yaitu sudut gesek antar tanah dengan geosintetik (δ) dan kohesi (c) di dapatkan melalu uji geser langsung. Pada penelitian ini, pengujian direct shear dilakukan dengan tiga cara, yaitu pengujian tanpa menggunakan geosintetik, pengujian dengan menggunakan dummy block dan pengujian membungkus sampel tanah dengan geosintetik. Hasil interaksi dengan tiap jenis geosintetik bisa jadi berbeda, sehingga pada penelitian ini menggunakan 4 jenis geosintetik, yaitu geogrid, woven geotextile, geocomposite, dan geomembrane. Hasil dari analisis menggunakan program Plaxis didapatkan nilai safety factor tanpa perkuatan sebesar 1,044, dengan perkuatan woven geotextile Maxmat 200 dan geocomposite PEC 50/50 sebesar 1,633, dengan perkuatan woven geotextile DJ15 didapatkan sebesar 1,652. Perbedaan hasil nilai safety factor tanpa perkuatan dengan nilai safety factor menggunakan perkuatan geosintetik mengalami kenaikan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh parameter interface antara tanah dengan geosintetik (Rinter) dan parameter teknis dari tiap jenis geosintetik (kuat tarik dan kekakuan).
