Abstract

This study aims to determine the relation between 'self compassion' with 'subjective well-being' to prisoners in Salemba prison grade II A. Self-compassion is an attitude of self-love that consists of dimensions of self kindness, common humanity and mindfulness which become the power for individuals to overcome negative emotions so as to create positive emotions. Subjective well-being is a form of individual evaluation of his life which includes life satisfaction and affection. There are 400 prisoners as experiment subjects using random sampling technique. This quantitative study uses the Spearman correlation analysis technique. The results showed that there was a correlation between selfcompassion and subjective well-being. This means that sel-compassion has a hihg role on subjective well-being. The higher the self-compassion, the higher the subejctive well-being in prisoners in the II A grade of Salemba prison. Keywords: Self-Compassion, Subejctive Well-Being, Prisoners Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-compassion dengan subjective well-being pada warga binaan dilembaga pemasyarakatan klas II A salemba. Self-compassion merupakan sikap menyayangi diri yang terdiri dari dimensi self kindness, common humanity dan mindfullness yang menjadi kekuatan bagi individu untuk mengatasi emosi negatif sehingga menciptakan emosi positif. Subjective well-being adalah bentuk evaluasi individu terhadap kehidupannya yang meliputi kepuasan hidup dan afeksi. Responden penelitian sebanyak 400 warga binaan dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan teknik analisis korelasi spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara self-compassion dengan subjective well-being. Artinya self-compassion berperan sangat kuat terhadap subjctive well-being. Sehingga semakin tinggi self-compassion maka semakin tinggi subejctive well-being pada warga binaan dilembaga pemasyarkatan klas II A salemba.
