Abstract
Along with the rapid growth of engineering in the field of creating industrial tools that work automatically, where work that was originally done manually can be replaced by automatic means. Cutting PVC which is still done manually can result in work accidents during the production process. By using a pneumatic system, production activities can run more efficiently, time, energy and cost efficiently, because the work of the operator is done automatically. The design of PVC cutting machines with pneumatic systems aims to increase security for users and can allocate excess employees. This research starts from designing a pneumatic circuit system to calculating the diameter of the pneumatic cylinder and the pressure is carried out to find the appropriate cylinder for the PVC cutting machine. Calculation results obtained cylinder 1 with diameter 10 mm rod diameter and 25 mm tube diameter with a pressure 98 Pa, diameters of cylinder 2 and 3 are 14 mm rod diameter and 40mm tube diameter with a pressure of 503 Pa and compressor power 10650 W. Keywords: Pneumatic, automatic, PVC Seiring dengan tumbuh pesatnya rekayasa dibidang penciptaan alat-alat industri yang bekerja secara otomatis, di mana pekerjaan yang awalnya dikerjakan secara manual dapat digantikan dengan cara otomatis. Pemotongan PVC yang masih dilakukan dengan manual dapat mengakibatkan kecelakaan kerja pada saat proses produksi. Dengan menggunakan sistem pneumatik maka kegiatan produksi dapat berjalan dengan lebih efisien, efisien waktu, tenaga, dan biaya, karena pekerjaan operator dilakukan dengan otomatis. Perancangan mesin pemotong PVC dengan sistem pneumatik bertujuan menambah keamanan bagi pengguna dan dapat mengalokasikan karyawan yang berlebih. Penelitian ini dimulai dari perancangan sistem rangkaian pneumatik sampai menghitung diameter silinder pneumatik dan tekanan dilakukan untuk mencari siinder yang sesuai untuk mesin pemotong PVC. Hasil perhitungan didapat diameter silinder 1 diameter batang 10 mm dan diameter tabung 25 mm dengan tekanan 98 Pa, silinder 2 dan 3 diameter batang 14 mm dan diameter tabung 40mm dengan tekanan 503 Pa dan daya kompresor sebesar 10650 W.
