Abstract

The use of the internet at this time is so fast. The increasing number of users using the internet can cause congestion problems at the ISP, in other words the amount of data transmission exceeds the bandwidth capacity provided. Therefore, telecommunication operator providers need to perform bandwidth management to optimize the existing bandwidth at each ISP. By migrating AS Path Prepend to one of the ISP bandwidths, it can optimize the existing bandwidth at each ISP so that congestion problems do not occur during busy hours. In this study, the traffic data analysis of ISP Indosat and Telkom ISP in Balikpapan City in March 2020 by testing traffic utilization to determine the success or failure of the US Path Prepend migration process. Migration is said to be successful if the amount of traffic before and after is the same and nothing is wasted. Indosat's traffic utilization prior to the migration had occurred congestion or full bandwidth traffic of 2.4 Gbps. After the US migration, Path Prepend, Indosat's traffic utilization to 1.77 Gbps was transferred by 630 Mbps to Telkom's ISP. Testing the Quality of Service (QoS) value after migration includes testing packet loss, delay and jitter. By using the AS Path Prepend method, network performance at Balikpapan ISPs is maintained. This is evidenced by the results of testing the packet loss value, when the traffic has been migrated the value obtained becomes 0%. Likewise, the delay value is at a value of 13-17 ms and the jitter value is at a value of 8 ms to 17 ms. This value is in accordance with the standardization that has been set by ITU-T and indicates faster user access speed. Keywords : ISP, Congestion, QoS, ITU-T. Penggunaan internet pada saat ini begitu pesat. Semakin banyaknya user dalam menggunakan internet dapat menyebabkan congestion problem pada ISP, dengan kata lain jumlah pengiriman data melebihi kapasitas bandwidth yang disediakan. Oleh sebab itu penyedia operator telekomunikasi perlu melakukan management bandwidth untuk mengoptimalkan bandwidth yang ada pada tiap – tiap ISP. Dengan melakukan migrasi AS Path Prepend pada salah satu bandwidth ISP maka dapat mengoptimalkan bandwidth yang ada pada tiap – tiap ISP agar tidak terjadi congestion problem pada saat busy hours. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan analisa data trafik ISP Indosat dan ISP Telkom di Kota Balikpapan pada bulan Maret 2020 dengan pengujian utilisasi trafik untuk mengetahui berhasil atau tidaknya proses migrasi AS Path Prepend. Migrasi dikatakan berhasil jika jumlah trafik sebelum dan sesudah adalah sama tidak ada yang terbuang. Utilisasi trafik Indosat pada saat sebelum dilakukan migrasi telah terjadi congestion atau trafik bandwitdh penuh sebesar 2.4 Gbps, saat setelah dilakukan migrasi AS Path Prepend utilisasi trafik Indosat menjadi 1.77 Gbps, dipindahkan sebesar 630 Mbps ke ISP Telkom. Pengujian nilai Quality Of Service (QoS) sesudah dilakukan migrasi meliputi pengujian packet loss, delay dan jitter. Dengan menggunakan metoda AS Path Prepend kinerja jaringan pada ISP Balikpapan menjadi terjaga. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil pengujian nilai packet loss, pada saat trafik sudah di migrasi nilai yang didapat menjadi 0%. Begitu juga dengan nilai delay berada pada nilai 13 - 17 ms dan nilai jitter berada pada nilai 8 ms sampai dengan 17 ms. Nilai tersebut sudah sesuai dengan standarisasi yang telah di tentukan ITU-T dan menandakan kecepatan akses user lebih cepat. Kata kunci: ISP, Congestion, QoS, ITU-T.
