Abstract
Car vehicles consist of various systems that support them to work optimally. One of them that is very important for the safety of its passengers is the brake system. Brakes are the most important component in every automotive vehicle which is a safety system in driving and works optimally so that the braking distance is not excessive. The brake system aims to reduce and stop a vehicle by regulating the vehicle speed so that the vehicle can be controlled. Brake system failure has a very fatal impact on motorists and other road users. This brake system uses a hydraulic system with a fluid flow hose with a T scheme, this hose delivers pressurized fluid to the front and rear tire calipers as well as the rear wheels so that if one of the brakes does not work, the other brake can still work and does not cause the brake to fail. This research is to test the brakes on the test of 15o, 20o, 30o tilt variations. The results of this brake system test, after stepping on the brake pedal, are able to withstand the vehicle's load for 35 seconds in each different inclined plane. So that the hydraulic brake system can work well with several tilt angles. And it can be seen that the amount of hydraulic pressure 178.4 kgf / m ^ 2 is able to make the car stop at a gradient of 20o. Brake Pads Work well from multiple tilt variation tests. Able to make the car stop from the influence of the thrust of gravity and in accordance with the competition provisions in the Indonesian Electric Car Competition Keywords: Brake system, Gradeability Test, hydraulic brake system, Road grade Kendaraan mobil terdiri dari berbagai system yang mendukung agar bisa bekerja secara maksimal. Salah satunya yang sangat penting akan keselamatan bagi penumpangnya adalah Sistem rem. Rem merupakan komponen paling penting dalam setiap kendaraan otomotif yang merupakan sebuah sistem keamanan dalam berkendara dan bekerja dengan maksimal agar jarak pengereman tidak berlebihan. Sistem rem bertujuan untuk mengurangi dan memberhentikan sebuah kendaraan dengan cara mengatur laju kendaraan sehingga kendaraan dapat dikendalikan. Kegagalan sistem rem memiliki dampak yang sangat fatal bagi pengendara maupun pengguna jalan lain. Sistem rem ini menggunakan sistem hidrolis dengan aliran selang fluida berskema T, selang ini menyalurkan cairan bertekanan ke Kaliper ban depan dan belakang begitu juga dengan roda belakang bertujuan agar jika salah satu rem tidak berfungsi maka rem yang lain masih bisa bekerja dan tidak mengakibatkan rem blong. Penelitian ini adalah menguji rem pada pengujian variasi kemiringan 15o, 20o, 30o hasil dari pengujian sistem rem ini setelah di injak pedal rem mampu menahan beban kendaraan selama 35 detik ditiap-tiap bidang miring yang berbeda. Sehingga Sistem rem hidrolik dapat bekerja dengan baik dengan beberapa sudut kemiringan. Dan dapat diketahui besarnya tekanan hidrolik 178.4 kgf/
