Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence on the investment objectives of accounting information systems. The population of this study are employees of accounting information system users at PT. Multi Welindo that uses computerized AIS (applications provided by companies that are directly related to AIS or indirectly but are still interrelated). Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires, interviews and observations. While the data source used is primary data. In this study the authors conducted a descriptive case study with a quantitative approach. The results of this study are the investment objectives of accounting information systems have not been fully achieved, because from the results of this study prove that the investment objectives of accounting information systems that are achieved almost completely is the replacement of manual work to computers. Keywords: accounting information systems, accounting information systems investment objectives, manual to computers, report automation, supporting the company's strategic goals. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh bukti empiris terhadap tujuan investasi sistem informasi akuntansi. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah karyawan pengguna sistem informasi akuntansi di PT. Multi Welindo yang menggunakan SIA terkomputerisasi (aplikasi yang disediakan perusahaan baik yang berhubungan langsung dengan SIA maupun tidak langsung namun masih saling berkaitan satu sama lain). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner, wawancara dan observasi. Sedangkan sumber data yang digunakan adalah data primer. Dalam penelitian ini penulis melakukan studi kasus deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tujuan investasi sistem informasi akuntansi belum sepenuhnya tercapai, karena dari hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa tujuan investasi sistem informasi akuntansi yang tercapai hampir sepenuhnya adalah penggantian pekerjaan manual ke komputer.
