Abstract
GMF is a company that specialized in aircraft maintenance. One of the aircraft components that carried out by this company is aircraft engine, the unit in charge of this is called Engine Maintenance. There is a problem faced by the Engine Maintenance in production activities due to layout conditions that are not yet in line with good layout criteria, where laying work stations has not considered the level of activity relationship between work stations and utilization of floor area that has not been maximized. This causes the distance of material movement to be greater, so that it will have an impact on the cost of using material handling equipment and labor costs that are less efficient. To solve this problem, it is necessary to redesign the layout of the facility by maximizing the available area. The method used to solve this problem is the Systematic Layout Planning method with the help of UA-FLP software. Analysis is carried out by comparing the total distance of material displacement between the initial layout and the proposed layout, which then impacts on changes in material handling costs. The total displacement distance drops to 1,075 meters / production cycle from 2,905 meters / production cycle in the initial layout. The decrease in distance caused a decrease in material handling costs by 63% from the initial condition, namely from OMH the initial layout of Rp. 10,909,847 / production cycle to Rp. 4,030,291 / production cycle.. Key Words : facility layout, systematic layut planning, UA-FLP, material handling PT GMF merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang perawatan pesawat terbang. Salah satu komponen pesawat yang dilakukan proses perawatan oleh perusahaan ini yaitu mesin pesawat, tepatnya dilakukan oleh unit Engine Maintenance. Masalah yang dihadapi di unit Engine Maintenance adalah adanya hambatan pada kegiatan produksi akibat kondisi tata letak yang belum sesuai dengan kriteria tata letak yang baik, dimana peletakan stasiun kerja belum memperhatikan tingkat keterkaitan hubungan antar stasiun kerja dan pemanfaatan luas lantai yang belum maksimal. Hal ini menyebabkan jarak perpindahan material semakin besar, sehingga akan berdampak pada biaya penggunaan alat material handling maupun ongkos tenaga kerja yang kurang efisien. Untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan ini perlu dilakukan perancangan ulang tata letak fasilitas dengan memanfaatkan area yang tersedia secara maksimal. Metode yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan ini adalah metode Systematic Layout Planning dengan bantuan software UA-FLP. Analisis dilakukan dengan membandingkan total jarak perpindahan material antara tata letak awal dengan tata letak usulan, yang kemudian berdampak pada perubahan ongkos material handling. Total jarak perpindahan turun menjadi 1.075 meter/siklus produksi dari 2.905 meter/siklus produksi pada tata letak awal. Penurunan jarak menyebabkan penurunan ongkos material handling sebesar 63% dari kondisi awal, yaitu dari OMH tata letak awal sebesar Rp 10.909.847/siklus produksi menjadi Rp 4.030.291/siklus produksi.
