Abstract
One of the important phenomena of the process of globalization has led to millennial generations, their different characters can influence the pattern of utilization of public space in the Central Jakarta bull park. In the use of space that is still not in line with expectations, it is the realization of a comfortable, productive and sustainable space. It is needed to study the pattern of space utilization by millennial generations in functions and activities in the banteng field park in the hope that the results of this study can be used as recommendations in designing public open spaces that can function optimally to accommodate the needs of adolescents for activities. As for whether the pattern of space utilization by the millennial generation in the Central Jakarta bull park is seen from its characteristics, this study aims to determine the pattern of spatial use by millennial generations in the park. The method used is descriptive qualitative research method. The method of data collection is done through field observations using the place-centered mapping method that will be used in this study because this technique is a mapping based on the place where the activity takes place, aiming to find out how humans or groups use or accommodate their behavior in certain situations and places according to the theme of this research. The results of this study in the central Jakarta bull park are millennial generations who prefer the most centralized lifestyle of those who like to do things that are not conventional because they like to be the center of attention. They look very individual and egocentric but their communal core is seen on shows and bench elements of more than 4 people. Keywords : generation millenial, public open space, the usage pattern of public open space Salah satu fenomena penting proses globalisasi telah melahirkan generasi millennial, karakter mereka yang berbeda dapat mempengaruhi pola pemanfaatan ruang publik di taman lapangan banteng Jakarta Pusat. Dalam pemanfaatan ruang yang masih belum sesuai dengan harapan yakni terwujutnya ruang yang nyaman, produktif dan berkelanjutan. Perlu dilakukan studi pola pemanfaatan ruang oleh generasi milenial terhadap fungsi dan aktivitas di taman lapangan banteng dengan harapan agar hasil studi ini dapat dijadikan sebagai rekomendasi dalam merancang ruang terbuka publik yang mampu berfungsi secara maksimal dalam mengakomodasi kebutuhan para remaja untuk beraktivitas. Seperti apakah pola pemanfaatan ruang oleh generasi milenial di taman lapangan banteng Jakarta Pusat dilihat dari karakteristiknya, penelitian ini bertujuan mencari tahu pola pemanfaatan ruang oleh generasi milenial di taman tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan dengan teknik metode place-centered mapping yang akan di gunakan dalam penelitian ini karena teknik ini adalah pemetaan berdasarkan tempat dimana kegiatan berlangsung, bertujuan untuk mengetahu bagaimana manusia atau kelompok manusia memanfaatkan, menggunakan, atau mengakomodasi perilakunya dalam suatu situasi waktu dan tempat tertentu sesuai tema penelitian ini.Hasil dari penelitian ini di taman lapangan banteng jakarta pusat adalah generasi milenial lebih suka termpat yang terpusat , lifesyle mereka yang suka melakukan hal yang tidak konvensional karena mereka suka menjadi pusat perhatian.Mereka terlihat sangat individual dan egosentris namun core komunal mereka terlihat pada saat event-event dan element bangku yang lebih dari 4 orang.
