Abstract

Open space in housing has an important role as a community center. The space can be used to socialize, exercise, and improve the quality of residential environments. In this Barata Housing Complex there are two public open spaces (RTP A & RTP B), with different utilization patterns and activities, due to having different utilization patterns and activities. So from that the purpose of this study is to compare the patterns of utilization of the two public open spaces, as well as any factors that encourage citizens to use the two public open spaces. The method used in this research is qualitative research methods in the form of observations and interviews, observations made is behavioral mapping in the form of Place Centered Mapping. The results obtained from this study are that in these two RTPs that are mostly used by residents are RTP A, with utilization in the form of economic, sports, social, and entertainment activities, and the factors that encourage citizens to use these POS’s are accessibility factor. Keyword: Patterns of Use, Public Open Space, Housing Ruang terbuka di perumahan memiliki peran penting sebagai pusat komunitas. Ruang tersebut dapat digunakan untuk bersosialisasi, berolahraga, dan meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan hunian. Di dalam Komplek Perumahan Barata ini terdapat dua ruang terbuka publik (RTP A & RTP B), dengan pola pemanfaatan dan aktivitas yang berbeda, dikarenakan memiliki pola pemanfaatan dan aktivitas yang berbeda. Maka dari itu Tujuan penelitian ini ingin membandingkan pola pemanfaatan kedua ruang terbuka public tersebut, serta faktor-faktor apa saja yang mendorong warga memanfaatkan kedua ruang terbuka publik tersebut.Metode yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini ialah metode penelitian kualitatif berupa observasi dan wawancara, observasi yang dilakukan ialah behavioural mapping yang berupa Place Centered Mapping. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini ialah pada kedua RTP ini yang lebih banyak dimanfaatkan oleh warga adalah RTP A, dengan pemanfaatan berupa aktivitas ekonomi,olahraga,social,dan hiburan, dan factor yang mendorong warga untuk memanfaatkan RTP tersebut ialah factor aksesbilitas.
