Abstract
This research is to analyze the real purpose of PT XYZ in investing accounting information systems, namely among others (a) whether the company invests accounting information systems only intended for the replacement of jobs from manual to computer. (b) whether the accounting information system invested is only intended to support the automation of the accounting process. (c) whether the accounting information system invested is intended to support the company's strategic. The research method used is a literature study of the supporting literature, field research, namely conducting interviews with several parties involved, as well as through questionnaires that have been distributed to several employees at PT XYZ. The results of this study indicate that the investment objectives of accounting information systems at PT XYZ are (a) Overall the investment objectives of the accounting information system at PT XYZ have been aimed at converting manual work to computers. (b) Accounting information systems in companies have also been intended to support the automation of accounting processes. (c) Whereas accounting information systems aimed at supporting competitive advantage or the company's strategic process do not appear to be a priority. Keywords: Analysis, investment, investment accounting system, accounting information system, computerization, automation, strategic Penelitian ini untuk menganalisa tujuan sebenarnya PT XYZ dalam menginvestasikan sistem informasi akuntansi yaitu diantara lain (a) apakah perusahaan menginvestasikan sistem informasi akuntansi hanya ditujukan untuk penggantian pekerjaan dari manual ke komputer. (b) apakah sistem informasi akuntansi yang diinvestasikan hanya ditujukan untuk mendukung otomatisasi proses akuntansi. (c) apakah sistem informasi akuntansi yang di investasikan ditujukan untuk mendukung strategik perusahaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan studi pustaka terhadap literatur-literatur yang mendukung, penelitian lapangan yaitu melakukan wawancara dengan beberapa pihak yang terkait, serta melalui kuesioner yang telah dibagikan kepada beberapa karyawan di PT XYZ. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tujuan investasi sistem informasi akutansi pada PT XYZ adalah (a) Secara keseluruhan tujuan investasi sistem informasi akuntansi pada PT XYZ telah ditujukan untuk mengubah pekerjaan manual menjadi ke komputer. (b) Sistem informasi akuntansi pada perusahaan juga telah ditujukan untuk mendukung otomatisasi proses akuntansi. (c) Sedangkan sistem informasi akuntansi yang ditujukan untuk menunjang keunggulan kompetitif atau proses strategik perusahaan tampaknya belum menjadi prioritas.
