Abstract
This study aims to determine the performance of natural ventilation on thermal comfort in the classroom because thermal comfort is very influential for the smooth teaching and learning activities. This study used an experimental method on natural ventilation with a single sided ventilation and cross ventilation system carried out in one of the classrooms in SMKN 1 Majalengka for three days. The experimental measurement point is carried out at five points, namely at two points on the north side near the window, two on the south side near the window and in the middle of the classroom to measure air temperature, humidity, and wind speed. While for measuring radiation carried out at six points, namely on the floor plate, ceiling, the wall on the north side, the wall on the south side, the wall on the west side, and the wall on the east side. Measurements were made using a room hygrometer, anemometer, and infrared thermometer. From the results of measurements of natural ventilation with a single sided ventilation and cross ventilation system which shows that based on SNI 03-6672-2001 it can be said that the thermal comfort in the classroom is quite comfortable. However, for a single sided ventilation system it is not suitable for use during the daytime, while for a cross ventilation system it is suitable for use at any time. Keywords: natural ventilation, thermal comfort, single sided ventilation, cross ventilation, classrooms Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja ventilasi alami terhadap kenyamanan termal diruang kelas karena kenyamanan termal sangat berpengaruh untuk kelancaran kegiatan belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental pada ventilasi alami dengan sistem single sided ventilation dan cross ventilation yang dilakukan pada salah satu ruang kelas yang ada di SMKN 1 Majalengka selama tiga hari denga. Titik pengukuran untuk eksperimental dilakukan pada lima titik yaitu pada dua titik disisi utara dekat jendela, dua titik disisi selatan dekat jendela dan ditengah ruang kelas untuk mengukur suhu udara, kelembaban, dan kecepatan angin. Sedangkan untuk pengkuran radiasi dilakukan pada enam titik yaitu pada plat lantai, plafon, dinding dalam sisi utara, dinding dalam sisi selatan, dinding dalam sisi barat, dan dinding dalam sisi timur. Pengukuran dilakukan mengunakan alat hygrometer ruangan, anemometer, dan infrared thermometer. Dari hasil pengukuran ventilasi alami dengan sistem single sided ventilation dan cross ventilation menunjukan yang berdasar pada SNI 03-6672-2001 dapat dikatakan bahwa kenyamanan termal diruang kelas tersebut cukup nyaman. Akan tetapi untuk sistem single sided ventilation tidak cocok digunakan pada saat siang hari, sedangkan untuk sistem cross ventilation cocok digunakan pada saat apapun.
