Abstract

At a coal mine, a conveyance is required to carry the coal from the stockpile to barge. One of the tools used is the underground belt conveyor. With the help of a drawdown hopper, the underground belt conveyor moves the coal to another conveyor belt up to the barge in the jetty area. It required an underground belt conveyor with 1200 tph capacity to move coal from stockpile to barge. In this report, to design the underground belt conveyor, author used Phal and Beitz method to get the best design. From the calculation of underground belt conveyor with the capacity of 1200 tons / hour, belt width required on this belt conveyor is 1000 mm and the required belt speed is 2 m / s. Power required on the electric motor is 50.2 kW. In order to be able to receive the maximum tension on the belt of 40,761 kN, the selected belt type is PN630 / 4. The diameter of the head pulley is 450 mm and pulley width is 1150 mm, while the tail and take-up dimensions of the pulley are the same as the diameter of 315 mm and the pulley width is 1150 mm. The pulley drive is on the head and take-up pulleys will be placed on the tail pulley as horizontal gravity take-up. The idler distance for carry, return and impact idler is 1400 mm; 3000 mm and 350 mm. The transition distance to the head pulley is 1300 mm, and to the tail pulley is 2800 mm. Keywords : Stockpile, Underground Belt Conveyor, Drawdown Hopper, Baru Bara, Phal dan Beitz. Pada tambang batu bara, dibutuhkan alat angkut untuk memindahkan batubara dari stockpile ketongkang. Salah satu alat yang digunakan adalah underground belt conveyor. Dengan bantuan drawdown hopper, underground belt conveyor memindahkan batubara ke belt conveyor lain sampai ke tongkang yang berada di area dermaga. Dibutuhkan underground belt conveyor dengan kapasitas 1200 tph untuk memindahkan batubara dari stockpile ke tongkang. Untuk merancang underground belt conveyor tersebut, digunakan metode Phal dan Beitz sebagai alat bantu untuk mendapatkan desain terbaik. Dari hasil perhitungan underground belt conveyor berkapasitas 1200 ton/jam dibutuhkan lebar belt conveyor sebesar 1000 mm dengan kecepatan 2m/s. Daya pada motor listrik yang dibutuhkan sebesar 50.2 kW. Jenis belt yang dipakai adalah PN630/4 agar mampu menerima tegangan maksimum pada belt sebesar 40.761 kN. Diameter head pulley adalah 450 mm dengan lebar pulley 1150 mm, sementara dimensi tail dan take-up pulley sama dengan diameter sebesar 315 mm dan lebar pulley 1150 mm. Drive pulley pada head dan take-up pulley akan diletakan pada tail pulley berupa horizontal gravity take-up. Jarak antar carry, return dan impact idler adalah 1400 mm; 3000 mm dan 350 mm. Jarak transisi pada head pulley adalah 1300 mm, dan pada tail pulley adalah 2800 mm. Kata kunci : Stockpile, Underground Belt Conveyor, Drawdown Hopper, Baru Bara, Phal dan Beitz.
