Abstract

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is one of the largest airports in Indonesia and historically is the main airport in Indonesia. As the manager of air services both domestic and international flights Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is always demanded to improve flight safety, safety on the land and on the airside. One of the equipment innovations to support safety on the land side is the Hand-Held Metal Detector tool design, which is a device used to detect metal items that are equipped with LCD monitors and are more flexible. The Hand-Held Metal Detector tool is equipped with an LCD monitor to determine the sensitivity of the device, battery capacity, and the initialization of the device. The Hand-Held Metal Detector tool is equipped with a metal sensor for initializing the input, and a vibrator sensor and buzzer sensor for initialing the output. So that this tool can help the operator to regulate the sensitivity of the device and be more flexible and also make it easier for technicians to do troubleshooting and repair tools. After the testing process can be concluded that it can detect metal objects such as iron material (knife, cutter, scissors, iron watch, spoon, fork). Greater sensitivity, the tool detects metal objects more sensitive. The output in the buzzer and vibrator is between 4.6-4.9VDC, depending on the detection distance, metal thickness and sensitivity. Keywords: Design of Hand-Held Metal Detector, Arduino Nano, LCD Touch Screen, Hand-Held Metal Detector, Metal Detector Bandar Udara Internasional Soekarno-Hatta merupakan salah satu bandar udara terbesar di Indonesia dan menurut sejarahnya merupakan bandar udara utama di Indonesia. Sebagai pengelola jasa pelayanan udara baik penerbangan domestic dan internasional Bandar Udara Internasional Soekarno-Hatta selalu dituntut meningkatkan keselamatan penerbangan, keselamatan di sisi darat maupun di sisi udara. Salah satu inovasi peralatan untuk menunjang keselamatan di sisi darat adalah Rancang Bangun alat Hand-Held Metal Detector, yaitu sebuah alat yang digunakan untuk mendeteksi barang logam yang sudah dilengkapi LCD monitor dan lebih fleksibel. Alat Hand-Held Metal Detector ini dilengkapi LCD monitor untuk mengetahui sensifitas alat, kapasitas baterai, dan konsisi/inisialing alat tersebut. Alat Hand-Held Metal Detector tersebut dilengkapi sensor metal untuk inisialing terhadap input, dan sensor vibrator serta sensor buzzer untuk inisialing terhadap output. Sehingga alat ini dapat membantu operator untuk mengatur sensifitas alat tersebut dan lebih fleksibel dan juga mempermudah teknisi dalam melakukan troubleshooting serta perbaikan alat. Setelah dilakukan proses pengujian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dapat mendeteksi benda logam antara lain dari bahan besi (pisau, cutter, gunting, jam tangan besi, sendok, garpu). Lebih besar sensifitas maka alat mendeteksi benda logam semakin sensitif. Output dalam buzzer dan vibrator antara 4,6-4,9VDC, tergantung pada jarak deteksi, ketebalan logam dan sensifitas.
