Abstract
In the pharmaceutical industry the compressed air system has an important role in the production process, and electrical energy becomes the main energy source to operate air compressor to produce the compressed air. In fact the compressed air system does not escape losses, in this case the losses are loss of pressure drop, loss of electrical energy and loss of product failure due to lack of compressed air. In this study we will calculate how much compressor performance, pressure drop in main pipe and distribution pipe, losses due to pressure band and make estimation of financial loss due to above losses. In calculating the above losses required data premier, secondary data and other supporting data. The data obtained from the measurements are flow rate, pressure, power, temperature and size and length of the pipe. And other data obtained from the actual conditions in the field and information from the user. From the above data after the theoretical processing, then obtained the result is the compressor performance decrease between 13% - 52%. The worst-performing compressor is the No. 1 compressor. 4, this is due to general overhaul maintenance has not been done, therefore recommended to be discontinued operation because of loss of electricity cost equal to Rp192,714,120/year. To reduce the pressure drop 2 bar in the production area, it is recommended that the installed 3" pipe size be changed to 4" and the installed 2" pipe size is changed to 3" and a closed loop system to reduce the pressure drop. The largest air leakage is in Production Area 2 of 32.85 l/s or equivalent to 10kW, estimated financial loss due to leakage of Rp208,000,000/year. The biggest pressure band between supply and demand is 2.5 bar that is in compressor no. 5, the estimated financial loss due to the pressure band between supply and demand is Rp226,720,000/year. Using an inverter compressor and a central controller system can reduce electricity costs by Rp94,640,000/year. Keywords: Performance, pressure, pipeline, loss, financial, decrease, air Dalam dunia industri farmasi sistem udara bertekanan mempunyai peran penting dalam proses produksi, dan energi listrik menjadi sumber energi utama untuk menggerakan kompresor untuk menghasilkan udara bertekanan. Dalam kondisi nyata sistem udara bertekanan tidak luput dari rugi-rugi, dalam hal ini rugi-rugi tersebut adalah rugi penurunan tekanan, rugi energi listrik dan rugi gagal produk akibat kekurangan udara bertekanan. Dalam penelitian ini kita akan menghitung seberapa besar kinerja kompresor, penurunan tekanan pada pipa utama dan pipa distribusi, kerugian akibat pressure band dan melakukan estimasi kerugian financial akibat rugirugi diatas. Dalam menghitung rugi-rugi diatas diperlukan data premier, data sekunder dan data penunjang lainnya. Data-data diperoleh dari hasil pengukuran antara lain flow rate, tekanan, daya temperature dan ukuran serta panjang pipa. Dan data lainnya diperoleh dari kondisi aktual dilapangan dan informasi dari pengguna. Dari data-data tersebut diatas setelah dilakukan pengolahan secara teoritis, maka didapat hasil yaitu penurunan kinerja kompresor antara 13% - 52%. Kompresor yang memiliki kinerja paling jelek adalah kompresor No. 4, hal ini disebabkan perawatan general overhaul belum dilakukan, oleh karena itu direkomendasikan untuk dihentikan pengoperasiannya karena kerugian biaya listrik sebesar Rp192.714.120/tahun. Untuk mengurangi pressure drop sebesar 2 bar pada area produksi, sebaiknya ukuran pipa 3” yang terpasang diganti menjadi 4” dan ukuran pipa 2” yang terpasang diganti menjadi 3” serta dibuat sistem ring tertutup untuk mengurangi pressure drop. Kebocoran udara terbesar ada pada Area produksi 2 sebesar 32,85 l/s atau setara dengan 10kW, estimasi kerugian financial akibat kebocoran sebesar Rp 208.000.000,-/tahun. Perbedaan tekanan antara supply dan demand terbesar adalah 2,5 Bar yaitu pada kompresor no. 5, estimasi kerugian financial akibat perbedaan tekanan antara supply dan demand adalah Rp 226.720.000/tahun. Dengan menggunakan kompresor inverter dan sistem pengontrol terpusat (central controller) dapat mengurangi kerugian biaya listrik sebesar Rp 94.640.000/tahun.
