Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain and examine the relationship between Work Engagement with Competency on employees with horizontal education mismatch in Jakarta. These variables are Work engagement and Competency. The type of research used in this study is quantitative correlational. Subjects in this study were employees with age range 19-55 years, graduate of vocational hight school or bachelor’s degree. The total of respondents in this study was 566 respondents. This research was conducted on employees of several companies in Jakarta. The data retrieval technique used is stratified sampling. Data were collected through two measuring tools, namely Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (17 items) from Scaufeli and Bakker which has been translated into Indonesian and Competency scale (37 items) who adapting of Spencer & Spencer (2010) theory. The analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is Spearman correlation. The results show that there is significant relationship between work life balance and creativity. Keywords: work engagement, competency, employee, education mismatch, horizontal education mismatch Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan anatara Work Engagement dengan kompetemsi pada pekerja yang mengalami horizontal education mismatch di Jakarta. Variabel yang digunakan adalah Work engagement dan kompetensi. Pada penelitian ini metode penelitian yang digumakam adalah korelational kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitiam ini adalah karyawan yang memiliki usia 19-55 tahun, lulusan SMK maupun Perguruan Tinggi. Total responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 566 responden. Penelitian ini dilakukan di beberapa perusahaan di Kota Jakarta. Metode pengambilan sample menggunakan metode stratified sampling. Dalam pengambilan data peneliti menggunakan dua alat ukur, yaitu Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (17 items) dari Scaufeli and Bakker yang sudah di backward transalete ke dLam bahasa Indonesian and Competency scale (37 items) yang dikembangkan dari teori Spencer & Spencer (2010). Teknik analisa untuk menguji hipotesa menggunakan teknik Korelasi Spearman. Hasilnya menunjukan bahw terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Work Engagement dengan Kompetemsi pada pekerja yang mengalami horizontal education mismatch di Jakarta.
