Abstract

vi The Relationships between parenting style and student academic achievement (Quantitative Study of students in grade IV SDN 01 Kampung Bali – Jakarta Pusat) Sri Aryani ABSTRACT This study aims to find out the relationship between parenting style to the academic achievement of students in grade IV SDN 01 Kampung Bali – Jakarta Pusat. Researchers want to know how parenting styles to their children, how parents educate their children, discipline, treat their children, teach norms to their children, and protect their children. How close is the relationship between parent and child in daily interaction that reflects the emotional connection between parent and child. Good parenting, will bring good results, and vice versa. When parents can identify the appropriate parenting style for their children, it will bring good results with the child's academic achievement. The population of the study taken from the fourth grade of elementary school was 54 students with the same number of samples as the parents fill out the questions Parenting Style Questionnaire (PSQ - Clyde Robinson). From the results of research, it can be concluded that parenting style has a relationship with children’s academic achievement Keywords: parenting style and academic achivement Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pola asuh orangtua dengan prestasi belajar siswa kelas IV SDN 01 Kampung Bali – Jakarta Pusat. Peneliti ingin mengetahui bagaimana gaya pengasuhan orangtua kepada anaknya, bagaimana orangtua mendidik anaknya, mendisiplinkan, memperlakukan anaknya, mengajarkan norma-norma kepada anaknya, serta melindungi anaknya. Seberapa dekat hubungan antara orangtua dan anaknya didalam berinteraksi sehari-hari yang mencerminkan hubungan emosional antara orangtua dan anak. Dari pengasuhan yang baik, akan membawa hasil yang baik, begitu pula sebaliknya. Bila orangtua dapat mengidentifikasi pola asuh yang tepat untuk anaknya, maka akan membawa hasil yang baik dengan prestasi belajar anak. Populasi penelitian yang diambil dari kelas IV SD berjumlah 54 siswa dengan jumlah sampel yang sama dengan cara, orangtua wali murid mengisi lembar pertanyaan Parenting Style Questionnaire (PSQ – Clyde Robinson). Dari hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pola asuh orangtua memiliki hubungan dengan prestasi belajar siswa Kata Kunci : pola asuh orangtua dan prestasi belajar
