Abstract

The exhaust system is an important part of the vehicle engine, which functions as a exhaust channel for combustion residual gases and reduces noise caused by combustion pressure in the cylinder. The exhaust system design analysis is carried out to determine a good design for energy-efficient vehicles. The exhaust system flow analysis in design one by simulation found that the pressure drop value was 735.28 Pa at 2000 rpm, 882.34 Pa at 3000 rpm and 967.29 Pa at 4000 rpm. The exhaust system flow analysis in the two design simulations obtained pressure drop values of 720.59 Pa at 2000 rpm, 837.88 Pa at 3000 rpm and 954.88 Pa at 4000 rpm. The two designs show better performance than design one. Analysis of transmission loss by simulation in design 1 is 14 dB and in design 2 is 11 dB. The results of transmission loss design 1 and design 2 found that both designs produce sound pressure levels below the noise threshold standard which is a maximum of 90 dB. Keywords: Exhaust system, pressure drop, and transmission loss Sistem exhaust merupakan bagian yang penting dari mesin kendaraan, yang berfungsi sebagai saluran buang gas sisa pembakaran dan meredam kebisingan yang ditimbulkan oleh tekanan pembakaran di dalam silinder. Analisis desain sistem exhaust dilakukan untuk menentukan desain yang baik untuk kendaraan hemat energi. Analisis aliran sistem exhaust pada desain satu secara simulasi didapatkan nilai pressure drop sebesar 735,28 Pa pada 2000 rpm, 882,34 Pa pada 3000 rpm dan 967,29 Pa pada 4000 rpm. Analisis aliran sistem exhaust pada desain dua secara simulasi didapatkan nilai pressure drop sebesar 720,59 Pa pada 2000 rpm, 837,88 Pa pada 3000 rpm dan 954,88 Pa pada 4000 rpm. Desain dua menunjukkan performa yang lebih baik dari desain satu. Analisis transmission loss secara simulasi pada desain 1 sebesar 14 dB dan pada desain 2 sebesar 11 dB. Hasil transmission loss desain 1 dan desain 2 didapatkan kedua desain menghasilkan tingkat tekanan suara dibawah standar ambang batas kebisingan yaitu maksimal 90 dB.
