Abstract
This research was aimed to determine the description self esteem of adolescent born with physical disability and factors that affect it. The respondents are adolescents aged 12-21 years born with physical abnormalities. The type of research use qualitative approach with phenomenology design. This research used four people for subject. The method used in this research is non-partisipant observation and open interview method. This research focuses on self-esteem of adolescent with physical disabilities. Self-esteem we are discussed here is how adolescents see themselves with physical abnormalities that have and the treatment of others against it. The results of this reserch showed that adolescents as persons born with physical disability have High self esteem and two of them have Medium self-esteem. Keywords: Self esteem, Adolescent, Disability Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran self esteem remaja penyandang disabilitas fisik sejak lahir dan faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Responden yang digunakan remaja berusia 12-21 tahun yang memiliki kelainan fisik sejak lahir. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian fenomenologi. Total subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah empat orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode observasi non-partispatif dan metode wawancara terbuka dengan pedoman wawancara. Penelitian ini berfokus kepada gambaran self esteem yang dimiliki remaja penyandang disabilitas fisik. Self esteem yang dimaksudkan adalah bagaimana remaja memandang dirinya sendiri dengan kelainan fisik yang dimiliki dan perlakuan orang lain terhadapnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa remaja sebagai penyandang disabilitas fisik sejak lahir lebih dominan memiliki High self esteem dan dua diantaranya memiliki Medium self esteem.
