Abstract

The technology advances and the increasing of information needs of the community also resulted in increasing the need for a mobile telecommunications technology without cable (wireless). Development of cellular technology in Indonesia since last year 2010 is 4G LTE in the frequency bands determined by the Government. The development of wireless technology in Indonesia have also been up to 5G technology, supported by the existence of several studies regarding the implementation of 5G in Indonesia. The spectrum frequency of 5G technology were in the high frequency, that frequency with a wavelength is small, this spectrum frequency is referred as millimeterwave (mmWave). In this research was done designing the antenna substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) horn that fits the mmWave application. Transmission line which can work in high-frequency is waveguide and microstrip, then in this research designed a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) antenna working on a frequency of 28GHz, by adding the semicircular slot for increasing gain of antenna . The simulation design is done using software Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) 19.0 v. The results of the simulations and measurement antenna, both showed an increase in gain, with an the maximum increase between the antenna without slot and antenna with a semicircular added slots in metal bottom, with a value 7.786 dB. Perkembangan teknologi dan informasi yang semakin meningkat mengakibatkan kebutuhan masyarakat juga semakin meningkat salah satunya adalah kebutuhan akan teknologi telekomunikasi seluler tanpa kabel (wireless). Perkembangan teknologi seluler di Indonesia yang terakhir berkembang sejak tahun 2010 adalah 4G LTE yang berada pada pita frekuensi yang telah ditentukan pemerintah. Perkembangan teknologi wireless di Indonesia juga sudah sampai pada teknologi 5G, didukung dengan adanya beberapa kajian mengenai implementasi 5G di Indonesia. Frekuensi untuk teknologi 5G termasuk ke dalam frekuensi tinggi, yaitu frekuensi dengan panjang gelombang yang kecil, frekuensi ini yang disebut sebagai millimeterwave (mmWave). Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan perancangan antena substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) horn yang sesuai dengan pengaplikasian mmWave. Saluran transmisi yang dapat bekerja di frekuensi tinggi yaitu mikrostrip dan waveguide, maka dirancang sebuah antena substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) yang bekerja pada frekuensi 28GHz, dengan menambahkan semicircular slot untuk memeperbesar gain antena. Perancangan dilakukan menggunakan software Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) v19.0. Hasil simulasi dan pegukuran antena, keduanya menunjukkan adanya peningkatan gain, dengan peningkatan gain paling maksimum antara antena tanpa slot dan antena dengan ditambahkan semicircular slot, yaitu sebesar 7,786 dB.
