Abstract
One of the characteristics of West Javanese culture is compassion, penance, foster care, meaning mutual love, mutual knowledge and nurturing among the people. Many of the arts and cultures possessed include traditional clothing, traditional weapons, traditional dance, traditional musical instruments, and special foods. West Java Province is in dire need of a means or container that can accommodate all information and complete activities related to arts and culture, as a training center, a place to promote art and culture, recreation, documentation, storefront and conservation of West Java cultural arts. Bandung is a cultural landmark of West Java. Thus the city of Bandung has the potential as an integrated and adequate tourism and cultural center in supporting the development of international art and culture and global insight. The integrated and adequate design of the Center for Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition, Performance (MICEP) can support the development of local cultural arts and global insights, especially in the city of Bandung. By producing an iconic cultural center design in the area of West Java, especially the City of Bandung, with regard to local wisdom. The Cultural Center is a complex in which there are open spaces and enclosed spaces as a place of activities to hold shows and performances as well as a place to meet and gather artists to exchange information as a venue for cultural recognition and preservation. Neo Vernacular Architecture Approach focused on the formation of the time in the design of the West Java Cultural Center. The Neo Vernacular architecture approach is expected to be a solution for the formulation of the Cultural Center concept in improving cultural existence and preserving local elements. Keywords : West Java, Bandung, Cultural Center, Neo Vernacular Salah satu karakter kebudayaan Jawa Barat adalah silih asih, silih asah, silih asuh, memiliki arti saling mengasihi, saling memberi pengetahuan dan saling mengasuh diantara warga masyarakat. Banyak kesenian dan kebudayaan yang dimiliki diantaranya seperti, pakaian adat, senjata tradisional, tari tradisional, alat musik tradisional, dan makanan khas. Provinsi Jawa Barat sangat membutuhkan suatu sarana atau wadah yang dapat menampung segala informasi dan aktivitas lengkap yang berhubungan dengan seni dan kebudayan, sebagai pusat pembinaan, tempat ajang promosi hasil seni dan budaya, tempat rekreasi, pendokumentasian, etalase dan konservasi seni budaya Jawa Barat Bandung merupakan landmark kebudayaan Jawa Barat. Dengan demikian kota Bandung memiliki potensi sebagai pusat pariwisata dan budaya yang terintegrasi dan memadai dalam mendukung pengembangan seni budaya dan wawasan global yang berskala Internasional. Adanya perancangan pusat Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition, Performing (MICEP) yang terintegrasi dan memadai dapat mendukung pengembangan seni budaya lokal dan wawasan global khususnya di kota Bandung. Dengan menghasilkan rancangan pusat kebudayaan yang iconic dikawasan Jawa Barat khususnya Kota Bandung dengan memperhatikan kearifan lokal. Pusat Kebudayaan merupakan suatu komplek yang didalamnya terdapat ruang terbuka dan ruang tertutup sebagai wadah kegiatan untuk menggelar pertunjukan dan pagelaran sekaligus sebagai tempat bertemu dan berkumpulnya para seniman untuk saling bertukar informasi sebagai ajang pengenalan serta pelestarian kebudayaan. Pendekatan Arsitektur Neo Vernakular yang difokuskan pada bentukan masa pada desain Pusat Kebudayaan Jawa Barat. Dengan pendekatan arsitektur Neo Vernakular ini diharapkan menjadi solusi perumusan konsep Pusat Kebudayaan dalam menigkatkan eksistensi kebudayaan serta melestarikan unsur-unsur lokal.
