Abstract

In effort to increase the strength of pavement highways structure especially Laston pavement, choices of material as a filler is the material itself that needs to be subtle and can fill the cavity or pore, one of a waste that produced by palm oil industry provides alternative opportunities for composing asphalt mixture of constituent materials (filler). Test were done by two stages which is, testing the test object with fly ash filler so that the Marshall parameter and KAO value are achieved, and testing the test object with palm shell ash in order to get Marshall parameter and filler optimum content value. Test that were done at AC-WC layer mix was obtained KAO value in amount of 5,5 % and filler optimum content value by 3 %. Stability value with 7 % Portland cement filler is amounted at 892,287 kg and 977,388 kg with 7 % palm shell ash filler with test object being immersioned for 30 minutes at 60 degrees C. On Wheel Tracking test was obtained the value of dynamic stability in amount of 2739,1 track/mm with Portland cement filler and 2520,0 track/mm with palm shell ash filler. Keywords : Palm Shell Ash, Filler, AC-WC, Marshall and Wheel Tracking Dalam upaya meningkatkan kekuatan struktur perkerasan jalan raya khususnya perkerasan Laston, pemilihan jenis material sebagai filler merupakan bahan pengisi yang sifatnya halus dan dapat mengisi rongga atau pori, salah satu limbah yang dihasilkan oleh industri perkebunan kelapa sawit memberikan peluang alternatif material penyusun campuran aspal. Pengujian dilakukan dalam 2 tahap yaitu, pengujian benda uji dengan filler abu batu yang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan parameter Marshall dan nilai KAO dan pengujian benda uji dengan filler abu cangkang kelapa sawit untuk menghasilkan parameter Marshall dan nilai kadar filler optimum. Pengujian yang dilakukan pada campuran lapis AC-WC didapat nilai KAO sebesar 5,5% dan nilai kadar filler optimum 3%. Nilai stabilitas dengan 7% filler semen Portland didapat sebesar 959,057 kg dan 1017,693 kg dengan 7% filler abu cangkang kelapa sawit dengan perendaman benda uji selama 30 menit pada suhu 60 0C. Pada pengujian Wheel Tracking didapat nilai stabilitas dinamis sebesar 2739,1 lintasan/mm dengan filler semen Portland dan 2520,0 lintasan/mm dengan filler abu cangkang kelapa sawit.
