Abstract
Optimal of raw material supply is an important factor in the fluency of the production process in a company. These raw materials can be controlled by using certain methods, one of that is a Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method which ha s better level of calculation accuracy than conventional methods. This research has a purpose to study more deeply about the use of Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method in controlling raw material of Drinking Water Company in Packaging. The object of this study is the number of purchases, the amount of inventory, the amount of raw material used in production, as well as the cost of ordering and storage costs of raw materials. The results obtained that the EOQ method is more efficient than the policy set by the company. There is the amount of raw material purchases in 2012 of 5,430,149 pcs, in 2013 of 7,413,635 pcs, 2014 by 4,78,424 pcs, and 2015 by 1,301,559 pcs. Besides, by using EOQ method, the company can know also safety stock and also reorder point. The conclusion of this research is the calculation using EOQ method on cup raw material more efficient than the policy used by company. This can be seen from the comparison of more efficient purchase of raw materials using EOQ method so as to save costs and be able to increase profits.
