Abstract
Wimax menjadi salah satu kandidat untuk penerapan teknologi Broadband dengan mempertimbangkan aspek keamanan dalam implementasinya memberikan nilai lebih pada sistem ini. Keamanan Wimax menggunakan metode Autentikasi yang menjamin hanya pengguna yang berhak yang akan mendapatkan koneksi dalam jaringan Wimax. Penelitian ini telah berhasil memodelkan mekanisme untuk Autentikasi yang diterapkan pada Layer MAC (Medium Access Control). Pada sistem WIMAX untuk aspek keamanan yang digunakan adalah Encryption Key Sequence (EKS) yang merupakan deretan kunci terenkripsi dan Connection Identifier (CID) yang dikirimkan ke Base Station (BS). Kata Kunci: Layer MAC (Medium Access Control),Encryption Key Sequence (EKS) Wimax is one of the candidates for adoption of Broadband technologies by considering the security aspects in the implementation, giving more value on this system. Wimax Security Authentication method that ensures only users who are entitled to get a connection in Wimax networks. This research has been successfully model the mechanism for Authentication is applied to the Layer MAC (Medium Access Control). On the WIMAX system for security aspects that are used are the Encryption Key Sequence (EX) which is a row of keys and encrypted Connection Identifier (CID) that was sent to the Base Station (BS).
