Abstract

Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) merupakan sebuah organisasi geopolitik dan ekonomi dari negara-negara di kawasan Asia Tenggara, yang didirikan di Bangkok, 8 Agustus 1967.Saat ini, posisi ASEAN semakin penting di dunia internasional. Hal ini ditandai dengan meningkatnya aktivitas ASEAN, bertambahnya negara yang diakreditasi ke ASEAN, meningkatnya jumlah pertemuan ASEAN (kurang lebih 1500 pertemuan per tahun) dan adanya proyeksi penambahan personel lebih dari 500 orang pada kurun waktu 5 – 10 tahun mendatang. Peningkatan aktivitas ASEAN berimplikasi terhadap peningkatan kebutuhan sarana dan prasarana ASEC mengingat gedung yang sekarang ditempati sudah tidak lagi memadai untuk perkembangan ASEAN saat ini dan di masa mendatang. Mencermati hal tersebut dan seiring dengan komitmen Pemerintah Indonesia untuk penguatan ASEAN, telah disetujui penggunaan lahan aset eks Kantor Walikota Jakarta Selatan sebagai lokasi Gedung ASEC yang baru. Konsep dari perancangan arsitektur ini adalah Jakarta sebagai ibukota diplomatik ASEAN, terintegrasi , harmonis dan ikonik dalam desain dengan efisien dalam penggunaan energi, dan dapat diakses oleh publik, namun memiliki fitur pengamanan yang memadai untuk pejabat.Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a geo-political organization and economy of the countries in Southeast Asia, which was established in Bangkok, August 8 1967.Saat this, ASEAN is increasingly important position in the international world. It is characterized by increased activity of ASEAN, the increase in the country accredited to ASEAN, the growing number of ASEAN meetings (more than 1500 meetings per year) and their projections of addition of personnel more than 500 people in the period of 5-10 years. Increased activity of ASEAN implications for the improvement of facilities and infrastructure needs ASEC considering building currently occupied is no longer adequate for the development of ASEAN today and in the future. Observing that it and along with the Indonesian Government's commitment to the strengthening of ASEAN, has approved the use of land assets of the former South Jakarta Mayor office as a location for building a new ASEC. The concept of this architecture is the design of the Jakarta ASEAN diplomatic, integrated, harmonious and iconic in design with energy efficient, and accessible to the public, but have adequate security features for officials.
