Abstract
Poor signal quality and dropped calls are still often found despite an indoor cellular network built by BTS (Base Transceiver Station) Indoor Micro in a building. This generally occurs in the periphery area of the building, where there are signals coming from Outdoor Macro BTS coverage of the signal is stronger, so that the MS (Mobile Station) choose the strongest signal as the Best Serving Cell. Although a strong signal, it does not mean the quality is good. This is due to limitations in the use of frequencies, allowing interference from other Outdoor Macro BTS using frequency re-use, resulting in signal degradation that typically occurs in high-rise buildings. Signal quality will be improved if the origin of an Indoor Micro BTS, because they have their own frequency allocation. To overcome these obstacles, needed a strategy to optimize BSS parameters for indoor cellular networks, where optimization of the design strategy includes aspects related to the BTS BSS parameters Indoor and Micro cell neighbor relations. For the purposes of implementing the work plan is made based on the sequence, the measurement of performance before the implementation, execution BSS parameters, after the implementation of performance measurement and analysis of the results of implementation. Implementation of the draft strategy was carried out in an indoor cellular network owned by PT. Telkomsel Regional Division Bandung in Bandung Super Mall location. Implementation results show the performance improvement of the signal, signal level, signal quality and sound quality, and performance improvements to the BTS statistics Micro Indoor ie, increased traffic, improved Drop Rate SDCCH, TCH Drop Rate, HO Failure Rate, TCH Blocking Rate and decreasing the number of handover attempt out of the Indoor Micro BTS. Key Words: BSS Paramater , indoor GSM Cellular Network Kualitas sinyal yang buruk serta drop call masih sering ditemukan meskipun telah dibangun jaringan seluler indoor dengan BTS (Base Transceiver Station) Micro Indoor di suatu gedung. Hal ini umumnya terjadi di area pinggiran gedung, dimana terdapat sinyal yang berasal dari cakupan BTS Macro Outdoor yang sinyalnya lebih kuat, sehingga MS (Mobile Station) memilih sinyal yang terkuat sebagai Best Serving Cell. Walaupun sinyalnya kuat, bukan berarti kualitasnya baik. Hal ini disebabkan karena adanya keterbatasan dalam penggunaan frekuensi, sehingga memungkinkan terjadinya interferensi yang berasal dari BTS Macro Outdoor lain yang menggunakan reuse frekuensi, yang mengakibatkan penurunan kualitas sinyal yang umumnya terjadi pada gedung bertingkat tinggi. Kualitas sinyal akan membaik bila berasal dari BTS Micro Indoor, karena mempunyai alokasi frekuensi sendiri. Untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, diperlukan suatu strategi optimalisasi parameter BSS untuk jaringan seluler indoor, dimana perancangan strategi optimalisasi tersebut mencakup aspek-aspek yang berkaitan dengan parameter BSS pada BTS Micro Indoor dan neighbor cell relasinya. Untuk keperluan implementasi dibuat rencana kerja yang berdasarkan urutan yaitu, pengukuran performansi sebelum implementasi, eksekusi parameter BSS, pengukuran performansi setelah implementasi dan analisis hasil implementasi. Implementasi dari rancangan strategi tersebut dilakukan pada jaringan seluler indoor milik PT. Telkomsel Divisi Regional Bandung di lokasi Bandung Super Mal. Hasil implementasinya memperlihatkan perbaikan performansi sinyal yaitu, level sinyal, kualitas sinyal dan kualitas suara, dan juga terjadi perbaikan statistik performansi pada BTS Micro Indoor yaitu, peningkatan traffic, perbaikan SDCCH Drop Rate, TCH Drop Rate, HO Failure Rate, TCH Blocking Rate dan menurunnya jumlah handover attempt keluar dari BTS Micro Indoor.
