Abstract

Telecommunication technology has growth rapidly in this world and for that, every telecommunication company makes so many improvements for their customers. In this case, PT. Aplikanusa Lintasarta as a telecommunication company that provides services in transmission, provide the BWA system (broadband wireless access), that can transmit data with transmission speed over than 64 kbps. Usually this service uses the point-to-multipoint configuration with TDMA multiplexing method. To completes and solutions in this final assignment, the writer analyzes the performance of BWA at the passport network in Surabaya area, with all weather conditions, and makes some comparisons between the theoretical link budget with the field result’s link budget, so we can get a good link budget score for the BWA to make a network connection. The analysis result will gives the RSL score lower than Rx sensitivity that will affect the performance quality of BWA media access to transmit packets over the wireless transmission media. Perkembangan teknologi telekomunikasi yang semakin maju di seluruh dunia saat ini, membuat setiap perusahaan telekomunikasi melakukan peningkatan layanan untuk para pelanggannya. Dalam hal ini, PT. Aplikanusa Lintasarta yang menyediakan berbagai layanan telekomunikasi, menyediakan sistem transmisi telekomunikasi yang disebut BWA (Broadband Wireless Access). Sistem ini memiliki kecepatan transmisi diatas 64kbps. Konfigurasi jaringannya umumnya bersifat point to multipoint dengan teknologi multiplexing TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access). Untuk melengkapi tulisan ini dan untuk memecahkan permasalahan yang ada pada Tugas Akhir ini, penulis menganalisa performansi akses BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) pada koneksi jaringan passport untuk studi kasus Lintasarta wilayah usaha Surabaya dalam berbagai kondisi cuaca dengan membandingkan perhitungan link budget secara teori dengan link budget hasil pengukuran lapangan sehingga bisa diketahui nilai link budget yang baik pada media akses BWA untuk melakukan suatu koneksi jaringan. Hasil analisa akan memberikan Nilai RSL di bawah Rx Sensitivitas yang akan berdampak pada kualitas performansi media akses BWA yang mempengaruhi proses pengiriman packet data melalui media transmisi Wireless.
