Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of independent variables (working capital and total assets turnover) against the dependent variable (operating income). The research was conducted on 38 manufactur companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange 2009-2010 period. Regression results obtained by the regression equation as follows: Income from operations = 2,424 + 0,586Working Capital + 0,186otal Asset Turnover. The results of hypothesis testing with the t test showed that the working capital of the independent variables have an influence on operating income, while total assets turnover has no effect on operating income. And F test results are known that all the independent variables (working capital and total assets turnover) together have a significant effect on the dependent variable is operating income. From the results obtained value of R Square of 0,341 (34,1%) means that all the independent variables could explain the dependent variable, while the rest are at 0,659 (65,9%) influenced by other variables not examined by the author.
