Abstract
Balai Penelitian Bioteknologi Perkebunan Indonesia merupakan sebuah lembaga riset penelitian yang bergerak di bidang perkebunan, memiliki salah satu divisi komersialisasi yang bertugas untuk mempromosikan dan menjual produk hasil penelitian. Akan tetapi penyebaran promosi dan penjualan produk hasil penelitian yang dilakukan belum maksimal karena penyebaran promosi yang dilakukan hanya sebatas menggunakan brosur saja, oleh karena itu untuk lebih mempromosikan dan meningkatkan penjualan produk hasil penelitian perlu dirancang suatu web site e-commerce agar dapat memudahkan konsumen dalam mendapatkan informasi mengenai produk hasil penelitian dan juga agar konsumen dapat melakukan pemesanan produk hasil penelitian secara on-line tanpa terkendala waktu dan tempat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan web site e-commerce yang sederhana, ringan dan handal dalam memenuhi kebutuhan divisi komersialisasi Balai Penelitian Bioteknologi Perkebunan Indonesia untuk memasarkan hasil produk penelitian, dengan tidak mengesampingkan unsur user friendly terhadap pengguna. Metode yang digunakan dalam membangun web site e-commerce ini adalah System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) yang terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, analisis, perancangan, implementasi, uji coba, penggunaan dan pemeliharaan sistem. Web site e-commerce Balai Penelitian Bioteknologi Perkebunan Indonesa ini dibuat dengan menggunakan bahasa pemograman PHP, CodeIgniter sebagai framework dan MySQL sebagai basis datanya. Hasil penelitian ini adalah web site e-commerce Balai Penelitian Bioteknologi Perkebunan Indonesia. Dengan pembentukan web site e-commerce ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kemudahan bagi divisi komersialisasi Balai Penelitian Boteknologi Perkebunan Indonesia dalam menyebarkan informasi dan pelayanan produk hasil penelitian dan bagi konsumen untuk mendapatkan informasi dan melakukan transaksi melalui media internet. Kata Kunci : Web Site, Internet, E-Commerce, PHP, CodeIgniter, framework, MySQL Indonesian Biotechnology Research Institute for Estate Crops is a research institute engaged in plantation research, has a division in charge of commercialization, for promoting and selling the products of research results. However, the spread of the promotions and sales of the products conducted is not maximized due to the spread of the campaign carried out only limited to the use of brochures alone, therefore, to further promote and enhance product sales, an ecommerce web site is designed in order to enable consumers to get information about research products and to order products on-line without the constraints of time and place. This research aims to produce an e-commerce web site that is simple, lightweight and reliable in meeting the needs of commercialization division of Indonesian Biotechnology Research Institute for Estate Crops to market research products, without neglecting user friendly elements for the users. The method used in building e-commerce web site are the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which comprises the stages of planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, use and maintenance of the system. Indonesian Biotechnology Research Institute for Estate Crops E-commerce Web site is made using the programming language PHP, CodeIgniter as framework and MySQL as database. The result is Indonesian Biotechnology Research Institute for Estate Crops e-commerce website. With the establishment of e-commerce web site is expected to provide the ease of spreading information and services for the division commercialization and for consumers in obtaining information and conducting transactions via the Internet.
