Abstract
Barcode is a symbol marking the real object made from the pattern of black and white bars to be easy to be recognized by the computer. In general, barcode tagging techniques are divided into two groups, namely linear barcodes and 2D barcode (two-dimensional). The standard 2D barcode has many variations, but most others are superior to standard 2D barcodes that are found in Japan, Quick Response Code (QR Code). In the development until now, mobile devices such as mobile phone have many additional features including an integrated digital camera, using a network intenet connection to a specific operating system. With the presence of the operating system on mobile phones allows developers to create applications that are reliable. Based on the characteristics of the QR Code and the technology used by mobile devices, then this thesis will explain how to encode reservation ticket code and turn them into QR Code symbols and decode to read the QR Code symbols to turn it back into a reservation ticket code. Online system application airplane ticket reservations with the QR Code which developed using a web based application, whereas the application to read the QR Code is a Java-based mobile device application. Keywords: Encoding, Decoding, Quick Response Code, Mobile Device Barcode merupakan sebuah simbol penandaan objek nyata yang terbuat dari pola batang batang berwarna hitam dan putih agar mudah untuk dikenali oleh komputer. Secara umum teknik penandaan barcode terbagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu barcode linear dan barcode 2D (dua dimensi). Standar barcode 2D memiliki banyak variasi, namun yang paling unggul dibanding lainnya adalah standar barcode 2D yang ditemukan di Jepang yaitu Quick Response Code (QR Code). Dalam perkembangannya hingga saat ini, perangkat mobile seperti telepon genggam memiliki banyak fitur tambahan diantaranya kamera digital yang terintegrasi, koneksi menggunakan jaringan internet hingga sistem operasi khusus. Dengan hadirnya sistem operasi pada telepon genggam memungkinkan para pengembang untuk membuat aplikasi yang handal. Berdasarkan karakteristik QR Code dan teknologi yang digunakan oleh perangkat mobile, maka skripsi ini akan menjelaskan bagaimana cara encode kode pemesanan tiket lalu mengubahnya menjadi simbol QR Code dan decode untuk membaca simbol QR Code untuk mengubahnya kembali menjadi kode pemesanan tiket. Aplikasi sistem online reservasi tiket pesawat menggunakan QR Code yang dikembangkan merupakan aplikasi berbasis web, sedangkan aplikasi untuk membaca QR Code merupakan aplikasi perangkat mobile berbasis Java.
