Abstract
The increase of needs information sources or references prompted some parties to develop reference sources based on technology that could provide information completely, accurately, and easy to use with affordable price. One of the information sources is an encyclopedia based on technology. It is an encyclopedia built in web programming language and database which are formed in a website have diversities and could save more information, so the scope and depth of information presented will be more complete than conventional encyclopedia. The encyclopedia application of regional dances is a software based on web which is designed to save a lot of information or reference about regional dances especially located in Java. Design and manufacture of the application used PHP programming language, MySQL database and waterfall method with supported by some other elements multimedia such as video and quiz (flash animation). Developing of attractive new fitures application expect would help process of teaching and learning in the academics and also help the data collection of national cultural heritage to save regional dances through digital technology. UNIVERSITAS MERCU BUANA Keywords: Encyclopedia, Regional Dance, Culture, Indonesia Besarnya kebutuhan sumber informasi atau referensi mendorong beberapa pihak untuk mengembangkan sumber referensi berbasis teknologi yang mampu menyajikan informasi secara lengkap, akurat, mudah digunakan dengan harga terjangkau. Salah satu sumber informasi tersebut adalah ensiklopedia berbasis teknologi yaitu suatu ensiklopedia yang dibangun menggunakan bahasa pemrograman web dan database yang terbentuk dalam sebuah situs web dengan memiliki keberagaman dan mampu menyimpan informasi lebih banyak sehingga lingkup dan kedalaman informasi yang disajikan akan lebih lengkap dibandingkan ensiklopedia konvensional. Aplikasi ensiklopedia tari daerah berbasis web merupakan perangkat lunak berbasis web yang dirancang untuk menyimpan banyak informasi atau referensi tentang tari-tarian daerah khususnya di pulau Jawa. Perancangan dan pembuatan aplikasi ini menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP, database MySQL dan metode waterfall dengan dukungan beberapa elemen multimedia diantaranya video dan kuis (animasi flash). Dengan pengembangan fitur-fitur baru yang menarik diharapkan aplikasi ini akan membantu proses belajar mengajar di bidang akademik dan juga membantu proses pendataan warisan budaya bangsa sebagai bentuk pelestarian tari daerah melalui teknologi digital ERC BUANA Kata kunci: Ensiklopedia, Tarian Daerah, Budaya, Indonesia
